Ok, so I'm trying to branch out and try new restaurants at WDW. And, I'm trying to get suggestions for those restaurants that aren't as popular as ohana or Le Cellier (which we already booked) for our next trip. We want to try everything so I'm looking for suggestions for those "hidden gems" at WDW. We aren't using DDP but we like to use TIW -- but not required. Send me your suggestions!!

Our trip will be myself and hubby and our two year old -- so must be kid friendly. i.e. nothing like Victoria and Albert or Bistro. We will have a car so we are open to dining at the resorts or parks.

Here is what we have reserved so far....

Flying Fish
Le Cellier
Ohana
Tusker House - Donald Safari Breakfast
Boma

Thanks!!!

We are also going back four weeks later for Marathon weekend... So, any dining reservations suggestions for race weekend is appreciated too!

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge is my favorite. Fantastic food and could be quite romantic..even with a child. It is nice and quiet, but if your child is well behaved, it is definitely kid friendly. I'm actually quite jealous of the kid's dessert there (a paint your own puzzle chocolate!) and almost asked if I could get it on my last trip. The adult desserts are also tasty. Haha.

Oh, Thanks! I had never even thought of Artist Pointe!!! Great suggestion!!

Whispering Canyon Cafe seems to have great food and great fun..will find out for sure in December :woohoo: Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare are great as well (CP has Pooh and friends all day; 1900 has Alice, and Pooh at bf and Cinderella at dinner). These sprung to mind when you mentioned your 2 year-old! I have also heard the Cape May breakfast is great..laid back, good food, and great character interaction.

Oh, thanks for the suggestion! We might try Cape May for breakfast. We've done Crystal Palace and definitely enjoy that meal and 1900 Park Fare for dinner was ok. We didn't enjoy Whispering Canyon but I think it was just a rare "off night" for the restaurant as most people LOVE Whispering Canyon. I also had Swine Flu and didn't know it yet so I'm sure that had an impact too....

We have also eaten at Narcoosee's (at the GF). This was our absolute favorite meal at WDW. Yes, it was quite expensive,(we had the DDP) but the food was wonderful! The calamari is what we remember most....YUM! We also had our then 4 year old with us and it was very kid-friendly. Also, we scheduled our dinner to corelate with the fireworks at MK, they have the music wired into their system, and will allow you to go onto their waterfront deck and view them. We just always go with the DDP, and it's tough to give up 2 TS credits for one meal with no characters.

Oh, and idk why my ticker is crazy...I have placed my dates in it TWICE and it still says we are going in 1 month...grrrr...we are actually going in December!

We had ressie's and Narcoosee's once for my b-day but ended up cancelling because we decided to stay in the parks that day. I hadn't even thought about rescheduling.... Great idea!!

Ragland Road at DTD and Sanaa at AKL Kidani. We dine mostly at the places not on the dining plan (V&A, Bistro, etc) but these 2 are surprise hits for us.

I've always wanted to try Ragland Road. Glad to hear that you like it....

Saana sounds yum too!

I don't know about with a 2 year old, but Marrakesh in Morrocco is a hiden gem to me. the food is different (I mean, really, how many steaks can you eat in a week?)
the atmosphere is so cool, the mosaic tiles, etc. and there is the bely dancer show.

For real hidden gems, think about Cape May Cafe for dinner. They do a New England Clam Bake buffet dinner - the food is amazing, it's all you can eat, and it's a pleasant atmosphere.

The Plaza Restaurant has amazing sandwiches and desserts. Many people don't think of it as a TS option. It is next to the ice cream shoppe on Main Street in MK, so the ice cream desserts are to die for!

Flying Fish at Boardwalk has great options, including a wine/dinner pairing.

For a long time our hidden gem was Olivia's. But, last trip we went to the Turf Club and REALLY liked it.
