I'm new to DisBoards but and planning my second WDW trip this coming May. This is our first time on the DDP and I know I am well past my 180 days to book ADRs but I am hoping to snag some good reservations.

We are travelling with our 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. My daughter will be 3 at the end of June and she can eat - so I am more than open to buffets where she can eat as well.

I need ideas for both QS and TS locations, so please share your favorites and must dos!

We are staying at Pop this time. Last time we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs last year but we barely spent any time in the room. We did cook many meals though and being on the DDP this year, we thought we would try a value. I hope this isn't a culture shock going from a deluxe to a value, but the cost savings is insane!

Thanks!

For table service meals I would consider Teppan Edo and Be Our Guest. With the age of your kids and on the dining plan some buffets might make sense -- Boma is usually the highest reviewed buffet for food quality (and you can probably still get reservations) and we generally enjoy it. 'Ohana is also pretty highly regarded but might be difficult to find reservations now.

Our favorite quick service is Wolfgang Puck Marketplace in Disney Springs - the food is better than some table service places. Be Our Guest is a very good lunch but you probably can't get reservations at this point. Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom might be an option. The flatbreads are pretty good and you can usually find seating upstairs.

And to answer your question, my top choices at Disney would be Narcoossee's and Yachtsman for signature and Chefs de France, 'Ohana, Teppan Edo, The Wave, Be Our Guest and Boma for table service. And on edit, Raglan Road in Disney Springs is a very good table service option for food.

TS must-dos (1 credit):
Biergarten
Be Our Guest
Raglan Road
La Hacienda de San Angel

QS must-dos:
Tangierine Cafe (for the chicken shawarma platter)
Harambe Market (for the ribs)
Be Our Guest

For 2 credit TS meals we've only ever done Yachtsman and Tiffins and we loved both and would do them again. Well, we've also eaten at Le Cellier and the Brown Derby years ago not on the dining plan and I wouldn't spend 2 credits on them.

Pop is perfect for trips when you don't spend much time in the room. The buses are good and there's only one stop, so you aren't on the bus forever before getting out of the resort.

Our favorite restaurant is Boma, favorite of the signatures is Jiko, with California Grill a close second. For breakfast, 'Ohana or the Wave.

In particular order:

O'Hana
House of Blues
Whispering Canyon
Be Our Guest
Raglan Road

We love Tusker House brft buffet in AK, and if you get later brft, they will start to change over to lunch and you can try both. It is a nice character meal with Mickey and gang in Safari gear, and near Safari ride and Lion King show. We also love Crystal Palace brft in MK with Pooh and Tigger, and made-to-order omelettes. Nice location across from the castle, and could also do later brft as brunch(you could also do lunch or dinner, we just prefer brft!).

Boma in AKL is well liked as mentioned above, and a nice way to check out the resort, and you can check out the animals while you are there. You can do BOG at MK as a quick service for lunch, but they bring your meal, so it's almost like TS. It is not a buffet, but neat to see the Beast's Castle with the three unique rooms - you do need an ADR for this one, even though it's quick service. In Epcot, for QS you can do Sunshine Seasons near Soarin which has a good variety of foods. Coral Reef is a cool TS because you eat next to the aquarium, which your kids would probably enjoy - DD hardly ate when we went since the sea turtle settled into a spot right next to her!

Many of these could be booked, but keep trying, as things open up as people change plans, even up to the night before! There is also a cancellation thread for each month on here where you can try and coordinate with people who are going to cancel one you might want - look on Dining Forum for May Cancelled ADR thread, and make it a watched thread so you get alerts for new posts. I just helped friends plan for Christmas week , only starting in late Oct., and I managed to get everything they wanted, many popping up in the last few weeks. I even got them a second Ohana meal during the week since they loved it so much, and wanted to go back! Good luck!

Honestly, we had 8 days of awesome meals so I don't think I can pick a favorite! My kids were 4 and 7 at the time of our trip (not adventurous eaters at all even though DH and I are). Here's what we loved:

MK QS: CHH and Pecos Bill's were great.

MK TS: LTT for lunch (loved the colony salad), CRT (my steak was awesome but do were the kids' - not dry or a cheap cut at all) and BOG (great atmosphere, loved the steak). We also did CP for breakfast and really liked it. DH much preferred the good over Cape May.

Epcot QS we had fish and chips at Yorkshire which were very good. TS was Via Napoli and we loved it, even my Italian husband.

AK QS was Flame Tree and it was awesome. We all had chicken meals and thought they were great. TS here was Yak and Yeti. Another hit - I had the chicken tikka and still think about it!

Resorts: Grand Floridian Cafe was one of our best dinners. Cape May was good, but not the biggest variety. Beaches and Cream was good - I thought my burger was very tasty. Captain's Grille was also very good for lunch.

We will be repeating many places next year, with a few new ones thrown in.

Yakkin' Yeti

Squirlz this sounds like the Yeti's meal didn't agree with her:p

Our favorite restaurant is currently Citrco's, but that's not ideal for small children. TH & Boma are very good (as mentioned above) I'd count those two places as favorites too. :earsboy:

Asking me which restaurant is my favorite is like asking me which one of my kids is my favorite, lol. We love the food at WDW, though we've never had littles there. We love Liberty Tree Tavern and The Plaza at MK, Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom, Sci-Fi Dine In at DHS. Oh, and breakfast at Crystal Palace. Dinner at Ohana. Dinner at Trails' End at Fort Wilderness, then watching Wishes on the beach. So much is good! Enjoy your vacation!

Wolfgang express at Disney springs was probably our favorite QS. The pasta was awesome and the portions and prices were great. The pot roast lunch at BOG was awesome also. BOG atmosphere is better and it's easier to dine at (being that you'd already be in MK).

As for TS im going to actually say it's rainforest cafe. I know it's a chain and gets bad reviews here, but the ribs, steak, shrimp combo was awesome. A lot of tasty food for a good price. We also enjoyed the burgers on the trip before. This will oddly be a must do for us from now on.

Lots of favorites! For quick service I would say Columbia Harbor House in MK-this is the one we go to every trip. Lots of seating, good food, and relatively peaceful in a crowded place. We also like Be Our Guest (quick or table) in MK and Flame Tree Barbecue. Les Halles Boulangerie is a great quick service in Epcot. For table service we LOVE Boma and O'hana. Other table favorites-Coral Reef, Rose and Crown, and Kona (for breakfast).

Garden Grill is a nice one in Epcot, as long as your family likes the foods they serve. It is family style, so no stressing about getting everyone's plates at the buffets. Great character interactions and the rotating restaurant is fun with little ones.

Favorite QS is in France, TS is Narcoossee's, and our kids love both of these as well. OHana is our go-to character breakfast. Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine is a good use of ddp, if your kids stay up late enough for the show!

Honestly, the only place I've eaten at WDW that was sub-standard was LTT. Other than that, we've liked every meal.

Some of my favorites are: 1900 PF, Tusker House, Mama Melrose, Via Napoli, and Bongos Cafe.

Favorite for food: Boma

Favorite for atmosphere: Be Our Guest

Favorite for good memories: 'Ohana

In no particular order, my favorites of the ones I've tried so far are Raglan Road in Disney Springs, Be Our Guest in MK, Tokyo Dining in Epcot, and Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom.

Our favorites change very single trip because we try something different every trip. Last trip we really enjoyed Tiffins. When my son was your kids age he loved to eat different foods so we haven't really eaten at the "kid friendly" places and I don't do buffets (with the exception of the Dolphin Fresh Med. Market for breakfast. Lots of people enjoy both 50s Prime Time and Sci Fi at HS for kids (I'm not a fan of 50s because the food is just too heavy for me).

I recommend looking at the menus from several restaurants per park. See which appeal to you, then come back to this group and run the list of what you are looking at to see if there are strong feelings against them. Our tastes are all so different -- you know best what types of food your family likes.
