We are 33 days away from our 9th WDW trip in 6 years! :cool1: that's right we've been blessed to go to Disney every year since 2005 and sometimes 2 trips in a year. Since our first trip in April, 2005, my DH, DD (9) and I have started our magical vacay with eating our first sit-down meal at O'Hana for breakfast. It started as a place to see the characters especially Mickey for my then 3 year old DD, and now it's our vacation tradition. We leave the Poly and take our favorite ride on the Monorail and start our day at the Magic Kingdom. No matter how many times we say we'll do it differently we can't bring ourselves to deviate from our "tradition". Does anyone have their own family tradition at WDW? :flower3: On June 24th we'll be eating breakfast at O'Hana yet again and we can't wait. :yay:

Our tradition is somewhat like yours. We always go to Epcot on our first full day and with that we always eat at Akershus before the park opens. I try to get an ADR for 8am or a little bit after. Another tradition that we started doing the last few trips is book an ADR for Crystal Palace before the park opens on our first full MK day. Lastly, we have to, have to get the last flight out of MCO so we can play almost the whole departure day before going home, we also do have to get the first flight out of Chicago so we can play at a park that day too :goodvibes

I love hearing about other people's traditions! We (me, DH, DS10, DS8, DS6) have been lucky enough to go 11 times in the past 7 years and we have 2 trips planned this fall. We have lots of traditions! We always go to Magic Kingdom first and always have to ride Buzz Light year first. We ride it as many times as possible and then move on to the rest of the park. We also eat at Chef Mickey's and Whispering Canyon Cafe (a.k.a. the "ketchup restaurant") every time we go. We added a new tradition 4 trips ago where we do something new on the trip, whether it be a new ride, a tour, a new restaurant, whatever. But we make a note of what the "new" thing was. That way we do try new things and we're not always doing the same trip each time.

Our last trip (which was our first trip together), we did a character meal and then the MK until it was time to go back to catch ME. Last year, it was Crystal Palace. This year it will be Cinderella's Royal Table.

Ours will hopefully start on this trip... breakfast at CP before the park opens on our first full day :goodvibes I'm so excited :woohoo:

My hubby & I went to WDW for our honeymoon; I suprised him at our wedding reception that we were going. He let me plan the honeymoon and I kept it a secret from him. He had never been to WDW before that. One of our traditions is we always go on vacation for our anniversary, which is 10/19 and this year it'll be 8 years; we alternate between WDW and a Carnival cruise. This year its WDW and I can't wait! We're an older couple, I'm 56 and he's 63. We always go to a really nice restaurant for our anniversary dinner and then a carriage ride at POR, where we're staying. Last time we were at WDW was 2009, he had rose petals put all over the bed when we came back from dinner.

I love your idea of making it a point to try something new! My family and I will have to try that this trip. I think it'll be really cool to talk about it and share with family and friends.

Our traditions is the first day we eat at Crystal Palace for breakfast and our last night there we eat at Liberty Tree Tavern. We have a group day shot in front of the castle before breakfast and a group night shot in front of the castle after dinner on the last night. Don't know how the tradition got started but it did.

Love it!!

Over the years we have developed a few habits. One is we leave BR around 4 or 5 in the morning so we get there around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. We check in, unpack and then head off to DTD to get a sandwich at the Earl and do some light shopping. Another is we go to EPCOT on our last day. DW has been a real trooper the whole trip and she likes to leisurely do EPCOT so we give her that day.

We always go to MK on our first/arrival day because it means we're really in WDW! We usually do a CS that night because we're too busy doing rides. We only did LTT once, and probably would have continued that as our tradition, but they took the characters away.:sad2:

We also make sure that MK is the last park that we visit on our trip. I cry everytime I turn back and see the lit up WDW train station.:sad1:

Also as tradition we have to do an early ADR at CP (to see Main Street empty) and do HDDR.

DH and I honeymooned at WDW back in '03. We had breakfast at CP on that trip and have kept that tradition going. We get the earliest ADR we can so that we can get into MK before rope drop. There's just something magical about walking down Main Street while it is virtually empty.

DH also gets his haircut on the first day of our trip at the barbershop on Main Street.
