I saw this thread for WDW secret and thought it would be cool to share secret or even not so secret advice.

I have no good secrets but a couple cool things:

- I love that the Bell services will carry up your groceries at the BW and BC.
- I think te easiest way to get to the MK is to park at the Contempary or Poly. Just have lunch there. If you park at the comporary on the left side of the guard shack, you can walk to the MK.
- ESPN has great takeout for the BC and BW
- The little speed boat are way to slow at the BC and YC go to a magic kingdom resort (Contemporary, Poly, WL...)

My best secret is this: When people start trashing your favorite resorts in their posts (in my case, that would be VWL & BCVs), NEVER defend your favorite resort. The more people that panic and think your resort stinks, the easier it will be to get your reservations when the time comes!!! :p

The people who are actually staying at these resorts probably don't think that this is such a great thing. A better idea if you are a DVC member: Valet Park at VWL (don't forget to tip!), and take the boat over to MK. The valet lots never fill up, and valet parking is free for DVC members.

Great idea.

Just heard this one today on another thread:

If you are staying at two resorts during one stay, the bell staff will insure that your bags are moved from resort to resort! That was news to me and plan to use that on our next trip!

Also, as you go to the MK the back way (past the Wilderness Campground), look to your right (after you get past Wilderness Campground): You will see a runway. This was an operational runway used in the early years by Disney staff and execs because many of the roads had not been built yet and they had to transfer many supplies from Anaheim to WDW.

I guess the runway is still listed on navigational charts.

Not only is the runway still listed on navigational charts, it is still occassionally put to use for VIPs flying in on private aircraft!

Wow!!

My best secret is we rent a studio (always has been BWV), there are 4 of us, myself, dh, dd (7.5) and ds (3). Up to this point ds has slept in the pack & play. We set the pack & play up in the alcove where the sinks are between the bathroom & the closet creating a little room, so that ds could go to sleep at night or nap without being disturbed and we could be on the bed or couch and watch tv (low volume or course.) This works for us, because both of our children were raised with "noise" so that our lives wouldn't halt when they had to a take a nap or at 8pm bedtime. This little trick will not work at OKW though, only the studios that are set up like BWV.

I have done the idea above posted earlier, but the other parking idea that I have used in the past and is no longer allowed was to:

Park in the Poly lot at the far end closest to the T&TC and walk the short path to the monorails that go to either MK or EPCOT. It was a great place to leave your car if you were going to park hop.

I actually thought of the Poly as being just as convenient to MK & EPCOT as BCV & BWV are to EPCOT & MGM. Please put DVC there

OMG....I LOVE it! That was the best little "secret" and I am joining you on that one.

Two questions:

1) Where do you think Eisner stays when he is in WDW?

2) Is he still allowed to say in WDW?

Stay in a first floor room...there are a lot of folks who request certain views...however, the convienence of staying on the first floor can't be beat! Sandie B

At HH they put out cookies and lemonaid in the lodge across from check-in in the afternoon usually around 2 or 3:00.

I made it a point to be visiting Big Murgeys Den about that time.:)

If we get a studio or 1 bedroom we usually like to stay in the lodge. You have an elevator and covered parking. Also it is easier to get to the cookies.

I would love to be able to use that runway. I've flown into Kissimee once last October but transportation is an issue to and from WDW to the airport. That runway would bring me to WDW a LOT more. Its a 2 hr flight from where I live. We go often as it is but that runway would bring me in for a lot of last minute day trips. "What you wanna do tommorrow honey?" " I don't know, want to go to Disney, we'll be home before supper."

Man that would be great, next best thing to living in Florida.

I'm not sure if this is a "secret", but it sure was a pleasant surprise to me at HH. If you request a wake up call there, Mickey wakes you up! DH laughs at me because I have to get my "Mickey fix" there every morning.

the refillable mugs at WL/VWL are worth the money - I don't happen to like the other resorts mugs - DVC and non-DVC included.

the boat and bike use to be pretty nice - I have heard that WDW no longer offers than plan?

no matter which DVC resort you stay at walk around - there is a lot details in the little things - if you rush off to the parks you miss alot of these little things.

always look at the activities list that the front desk gives you when you check in - it should be on the back on the map - if it is not there - ask the front desk - sometimes they run out and have to print some more......

if possible go to the DVC meeting on Tues at OKW and Thurs at BWV - you get to meet fellow DVC....

Love this idea!! ::yes::

All three of the roads at OKW were suppose to have bus turn-arounds, only one ended up with one. Also you need a band-ade to put over the peek hole on the doors at the studios at OKW-by some freak design error the outside light shines through the peek hole and hits you right in the face on the bed nearest the front window. Make sure it is a large band-ade, it is a large peek hole.

1) If you're 2 year old accidently phone the front desk - instead of being annoyed they let him "speak" to Goofy!

2) If you 'screw up' your banking and miss the deadline, MS will still bank your points! - LOVE MS! (Though I think that you are only allowed this once.
