What is your best Disney memory?

I guess my fondest memory is from the first family trip in 1975 when my siblings and I tricked my mother onto Space Mountain. Back then RCA sponsored the ride and "The RCA Home of Future Living" was the after ride "show". We told her she could walk through to the after show w/o having to wait in line for the ride. But, she wanted to stay in line with us until we boarded but by then it was too late for her to back out. She started screaming from the time she sat in the ride vehicle to the time it stopped and we got out. :teeth:

PRICELESS! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mine was just this past May. I was at Disneyland (first time in over 30 years) and was walking down Main Street towards the train station to go to the Emporium.

I noticed Cinderella across the street walking proudly up Main Street towards the Castle.

Then I saw the WHOLE picture.

Cinderella was wearing her beautiful blue ball gown, proudly holding the hand of a small child, also dressed just like Cinderella, blue dress and all. The special part of the whole package was that the child was a special needs child being pushed proudly by her father in a wheelchair.

It was so touching. I took a picture, which turned out absolutely perfect, and I now have that picture up in my office.

I kept thinking over and over, "only at Disney could a child have such a special moment, and boy, would Walt be more than proud"!

Our favorite memory (DW and I) is our first night of our first trip. We were on our Honeymoon and we were at the California Grill watching the sun set over the Magic Kingdom. Now that's MAGIC!!!!

This is going to sound bad at first but keep reading. I think the best memory that I have of Disneyland was 2 years ago. We now live in Oklahoma, but I grew up in California. When my grandfather became ill and would have to stay in a nursing home if he stayed in California my mother brought him to live with her in Ok. Well, my grandfather lived for only a few precious months with us.After he passed we found an envelope. Inside we found a letter with his last requests. He wanted to be buried beside my grandmother in Calif. No problem. But at the end of the letter he told us he wanted us to use the rest of the money and go to Disneyland after the funeral. He wanted to bring happiness to my mother and I at a time when sadness would fill our hearts. Mom and I carried out all of his requests. We did not believe we would enjoy ourselves much, but when we were at Disneyland our hearts did lighten. We drank a toast to my grandfather as we sat and watched families enjoying themselve.

My favorite memory is when my DD was 4yrs old. It was our last day at MK and she was wearing her Snow White costume. During the afternoon parade Snow White noticed her and kissed her hand, which left the lipstick shape lips on her. My DD was in shock, all day she held her hand with her other hand and would not let anyone or anything touch the hand. She showed everyone. At the end of the night the fireworks were starting and she is scared of them, so my sister-in-law and I was taking her out of the park when we saw, Snow White standing there waving goodnight to everyone. So we stopped one last time to say goodnight and we showed SW the ipstick mark on her hand and we told her how she was all day, Snow White knewmy DD was upset so she asked what what was wrong. We told her she was scared of the fireworks. So Snow White took my DD by the hand and started playing ring-around-the-rosie with her. The Fairy Godmother saw them playing and asked if she could join in. So through the whole fireworks show, Snow White and the Fairy Godmother played with my DD so she would not be scared, a few kids joined in and then they played Duck-Duck-Goose. When the fire works were over Snow White picked my DD up and danced with her until the rest of my family caught up with us, I actually had to tell Snow White we had to leave. It was a night my DD has never forgotten, and she is now 12 yrs old. It still makes me cry when I talk about it.

There are so many.... being serenaded by the Main Street quartet, my child first meeting with Cinderella, Minnie, and Mickey....

but one of my favorites happened during the Beauty and the Beast show. My 4 yo really got into the show. She sang every song (which made me get a little "misty").Although she knows the story well, when the Beast "died", I heard my dd sniffle. I looked over and tears were streaming down her face! It was just one of those "Disney" moments. pixiedust:

Hi everyone, this is my first ever post here so here goes.

My best memory is from when I visited WDW with my boyfriend in 2004. I've been 4 times before with my family so knew what to expect. He had never been before & could not understand why I was so excited. We had several conversations which normally ended in me say "but it's Disney World, how can you not be getting excited?" I tried to involve him in the planning of what to do & where to go but he was not at all interested in joining in. Well to cut a long story short, we very nearly split up just before the holiday but I decided to give the relationship one last chance & go on holiday.

Well after spending a fantastic but tiring day at the MK we eventually got back to the car at about 10.30pm & he turned to face me & said "Thank you. Thank you for bringing me here, I'm having the best time of my life" I could only answer back with a hug as the tears streamed down my cheeks.

I am happy to say that we are now planning our second trip back there in 2007. :cheer2:

Even though I've been to WDW a few times, my most magical moment happened just a couple weeks ago. My husband and I got married in MN on June 9th and on the 10th we were at WDW for our honeymoon. Our first night there we went to MK and saw Wishes (we'd never seen it before). I started crying when during them music they played a small clip of 'A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes' because that was the song I walked down the aisle to. All the memories of the wedding and the joy of FINALLY being at Disney hit me so hard and it was such a great moment!

We went a bunch of times when my sister and I were kids. When I was 13, my parents let us fly by ourselves to meet our grandparents in Orlando, spend a week with them at Fort Wilderness, and drive back to NH with them. It was a wonderful trip with them.

Second best: taking my DH for the first time 2 years ago. The look when he was watching Illuminations was great :)

I have two and soon I am sure three.
First, when I was 10 my dad suprised me with a trip to WDW for Easter. It was great because things at home had been pretty bad with my mom and I had not been looking forward to being home for two weeks. Daddy and I closed down MK and Epcot every night. I will never forget what that trip meant to me.
Second, was with my teenage DS on one of our recent trips. He has always loved Pooh and we eat breakfast at Crystal Palace every visit. But right before the trip he told DH and I that he was too old for Pooh and would appriciate it if we didn't make him get a picture this trip. I was heart broken but understood that teenage boys are not into "uncool" things liek Pooh bears. Then the morning of the breakfast DH and I asked DS to take a picture of us with Pooh. As we walked up to where Pooh was standing DS shoved past us and threw his arms around Pooh and gave him a huge hug. I wanted to cry. Afterwards DS said he couldn't help it after all it is Pooh but made us promise to never tell his friends what he did.
Third, we are taking our first DD trip to WDW this Nov and I know something will bump this visit to the top of my list. She is our little miracle baby and only daughter and grandaughter on both sides of the family so I know this will be special even if she is only 6 months old.

6 years ago, I was going through a divorce and my daughter and I were living with my Dad and my brother in Southern California. One Saturday morning, my brother came to me and asked me and DD4 (then) to go to Disneyland with him. I didn't really want to go, I was still depressed and very short on money, but my brother told me he was paying and we were going and that was the end of the conversation (lol he was funny that way);) !

We went, and of course we had a great time. I specifically remember watching Fantasmic, and my brother had DD on his shoulders so she could see better. They both had looks of absolute happiness on their faces and I remember telling myself to freeze this moment in my mind, because it would be important. There were lots of other moments too, like eating dinner at the hotel and DD making her own Mickey Pizza (I still have her souvenir cup from that dinner) and of course, my brothers favorite ride, the Pirates of the Caribbean!!!!!pirate:

My brother died 8 months later after a failed heart transplant. I unfortunately don't have any pictures from that wonderful day at Disneyland, but I have my memories that will last me a lifetime. I'm very glad that my brother talked me into going with him - I would have missed a lot if I hadn't. :cool1:

My favorite WDW memory is very, very dear, but is a family rather than a park memory. Still a great illustration of Disney magic.

It was 1976, my first trip. (Once upon a time there was only the Magic Kingdom, my children!)

I was a teenager and drove down from New Jersey with Mom and Dad and two younger brothers. I was nowhere near too cool to be completely thrilled. Our family watched The Wonderful World of Color, then of Disney, every Sunday and our favorite shows were the Disneyland visits. We were finally going to see those Pirates!

My favorite thing was driving into the park -- when we caught sight of the Disney topiary animals, the first Disney magic to be seen. We all gasped, but it was my Dad -- 50ish, mature PhD man of science -- who blurted out, "I'm excited as h*ll!"

We'll be visiting the park this year for the first time since he passed, two years ago, but I know I'll hear him say it again when we see the first amazing Disney-things.
