I had started a thread that has recieved a great response titled "What can you not make/bake" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1271590
There are great tips from Dis'ers on how to hopefully turn those dishes around.

Now I thought I would start a similar thread but what is your BEST dish/dessert that you make. Friends & Family rave about, It's requested when people are having a gathering, etc.

My 2 best dishes are probably my chocolate chip cookies & low carb stuffed mushrooms.

So now everyone else, Dish please: popcorn::

My pan of enchiladas or burritos -enchilada style!

I go get dried red chili, boil, blend, and strain to make the BEST AUTHENTIC enchilada red sauce. These mexican restauraunts have nothing on my sauce! :)

my family is from New Mexico/Texas, so we know all about mexican food! :)

YUM-O!!!

DH loves my chicken enchiladas.

I used to get requests for my pizzelles (but many of those folks have since moved away).

Oh, and my rum balls (I am usually the one requesting those!! :rotfl: )

My family always likes my linguine with clams, Portuguese Chicken, 40 Cloves and a Chicken, Lamb Curry, Rosemary Lamb with potatoes, and spaghetti!

I really love cooking. It is one of my favorite things to do. My family is quite adventurous and will try anything at least once.

I can't wait till Thanksgiving break, when I'll get to trash the kitchen on a daily basis! Then, I'll get it cleaned up and ready for the Christmas baking frenzy!

Death By Chocolate, Peanut Butter Pie, and Chocolate Cookie Dough Truffles.

My home made BBQ sauce , Beef stroganoff ,Lasagna , Cheesecake and Cream Puffs.

Butter cake with Bavarian cream and raspberry filling, homemade chocolate cake, and my husband's friends always request my chili when they get together.

mmmm ... all those dishes sound so good!

Anyone want to share a recipe, or are they secret?

I'm hungry now! :teeth:

Chili
Lasagna,
Beef Stroganoff ....

please deliver servings for 4 to ....

A couple of things

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate chip cookies

Pumpkin cranberry bars w/ brown butter frosting

Chocolate Guiness Cake

Hmmm, all baked goods LOL

I'm happy to share recipes, just let me know which ones you want

I'm often asked to bring my Swedish meatballs. Not a problem. So so easy !!

1 bag frozen swedish meatballs
4 cans brown/beef gravy
1 pint sour cream

(Adjust as necessary, but I always make too much. What are freezers for?)

Another fav request:

Chili Cheese dip

Mix 1 pack of taco seasoning into 1 brick of cream cheese, spread on bottom of glass pie plate. Cover with 1 can of Hormel Chili and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Microwave (or bake) until heated through and serve with Fritos Scoops. Yum!

Now I've made myself hungry, I have to go raid the fridge. :rotfl2:

Can you share that recipe?? Sounds soooo good.

Just about anything I bake gets great reviews. The one thing that always gets scooped away is chocolate trifle. Just brownies or devils food cake, pudding, whipped cream, and choc. chips. I vary it sometimes, adding different things, but always come home with a nearly clean bowl.

Mac n cheese. Everytime there's a gathering, I'm always asked to make it. I've had several people tell me I should market it and sell it to restaurants.

Fried chicken - My mom taught me how to make it and I now make it better than hers.
Steak- I've perfected this one to where it's soooo good you don't need steak sauce. Don't even remember the last time I actually bought some.

Pumpkin Cranberry Bars with Brown Butter Frosting
I first found this recipe on the Cooking Light Message Board, but I’m not sure of the original author. The frosting is outstanding, but not necessary. Feel free to serve plain or with powdered sugar

1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. ground ginger
3 eggs
1 can (15 oz.) solid packed pumpkin
3/4 c. butter, melted (don't substitute)
3/4 c. dried cranberries

In a bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. In another bowl, whisk eggs, pumpkin and butter. Stir into the dry ingredients til combined. Stir in cranberries. Spread onto a greased 13x9 pan. Bake 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Spread with brown-butter frosting.

Brown-Butter Frosting:

1/2 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
4-6 T. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat til golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from the heat and cool for 5 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and enough milk to make a spreading consistency. Spread over the bars before cutting.

I always get requests for my chili, potato salad, macaroni salad and chicken francais
