Just looking for some opinions
or maybe Im just venting a little. Heres the story. My best friend is my DHs cousin, we have been very good friends with her and her husband for over 20 years. My friend has a brother (also my DHs cousin) who wants to be close to my friend and her husband like we are, and I think is jealous of our relationship. However, her brother is a real jerk who is just very self-obsorbed and none of us really like him. He gets upset if her family doesnt come over to spend Christmas, etc.
Ok, so anyway, my friends daughter just left for Africa on a lay missions trip, she will be gone for 3 years. This has been in the works for about a year now and everyone has known about it. This has been a very hard time for my friend because of her daughter being gone for 3 years and worring that she will be ok, etc. She left for Africa on Monday and we went to the airport to see her off. My friend had a big going away party for her a couple of weeks ago and sent out invitations. When she gave one to her brother and his wife, his wife said they would be busy that day!!! In between the party and when she actually left for Africa, many people, friends and family, called to wish her well, etc., my girlfriends brother never called at all!!
So my friend told me her brother called yesterday and asked in general how she was, etc., and WHATS NEW!!! My girlfriend said she could not even go into it because she was afraid of what would come out of her mouth. Its like hes totally clueless. But, he will wonder why she doesnt want to be close to him and his family! And to top it off his/their mother will totally defend him because she thinks he walks on water no matter how bad he treats everyone.
