What is with Vinylmation?!?!?!?!

They actually creep me out! I think for my generation, they're just so anti-traditional Disney, and I like the classics. But I'm sure Disney's marketing dept. cashed in on these with a younger demographic.
I'm in my 30's and I love them. I have a couple of the big ones and about 5 of the 3 inch ones. I think they're really cute and different. But, I guess to each their own.

I love-love-love them. But then again, I'm a big fan of Tokidoki, which is very similar. (and I'm 39, for what it's worth) So far I've managed to resist (mostly) and I've only bought 2, mostly because I don't need yet another thing to collect, but I can feel my resistance weakening. ;)

I'm waiting for it to get warm enough to wear the super cute Vinylmation t-shirt I got, though. Forgot all about that when I was patting myself on the back for only buying 2 figures. :rotfl:

I don't get them either. I guess it's like others have said - one less thing for me to want to spend money on. :lmao:

We collect them! My girls have a nice collection, oh, about 30 of them?

Not surprised with the responses on this thread though, I never seen anyone in the stores looking at them or buying them. I wonder how popular/unpopular they really are?

And I have to admit, HATE the blind packaging. OUr trip in November each girl got 1 vinylmation to add to their collection, and a trip to NYC last fall they each got 1 more. Otherwise, the remainder have all been bought off ebay. There are certain ones they, and myself want, and even though more money on ebay often, is worth it to me to pay for the ones we WANT and not waste money on blind packaging and not getting what we want. And the ones we DID buy through Disney ended up being ones the girls had no interest in.

There are some upcoming ones not released yet that they are hoping to get in the future.... and probably will get from ebay. If there's only maybe 3 in a series that we are interested in, am not spending tons to keep buying and opening and finding out nope, dont' like that one!

My DD (5) got really into them on our trip this last February. The new Muppet ones came out while we were there and there were several people in line for them and they were buying them by the cases! I was shocked....we think they are cute (esp the cutsies?) but I don't see us buying them in bulk anytime soon!

I don't like them either :sad2:

I could see them being more appealing if they were more of a classic Mickey shape. I agree with PP who said they look like aliens. The idea is neat- to have something representing the parks...and getting a surprise (kinda like those grab bags at the dollar store when I was a kid!) But they're just a bit too funky for me.

ugly...looks like something you would buy the dog for him to chew on.

If we go by this thread, like 70% of the people dont like them.
Japan and China can keep their weird garbage/ideas. Guess I will have to stick with Plush Mickey or something like that

The Muppets and Cutesters are adorable!! Dang it, all this talk is making me want to order some! I noticed there's a really cute Herbie and the Love Bug one...and the Sully and Boo one is too stinkin' cute what with the little Boo in his hand!

That's what I don't like about them, not knowing which ones you will get especially because when I looked at them in World of Disney, I thought a couple of the designs were cool but the rest I had no interest in.

One of our boys got the Herbie one last trip - it's very cute!

I don't get it. The only one I've seen that I like is the one where Mickey is painted to look like a Fantasyland trash can, but that's because I used to do custodial in Fantasyland :rotfl:
