What is/was your New Years day dinner?

DBF and I are going to my parents house for New Years dinner today ( we had a wedding on New Years Day and I worked yesterday) and this is on the menu...

Prime rib, collard greens, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, sauerkraut, pork ribs, corn bread, then we are having banana pudding for desert....

SO what did you have for your new years dinner...

We had pork ribs, cabbage, boiled potatoes and black eyed peas with a ham bone and corn bread.

Sounds like your parents have all the traditions covered!

We had ribs, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas w/ rice, and andouille sausage.


The prime rib sounds wonderful though. We almost had that, because they had some marked down at Sam's club. But we had just had one on Christmas.

Life cereal. I was on the way home from work (waitressing) when the clock struck 12, came home and ate my cereal, then passed out!

I have always done the black eyed pea meal, but it never brought even a tiny bit of luck to me. Sooooo....we skipped it this year. We had the leftover appetizers from New Year's Eve. Today, though, we are having chicken and dumplings and black eyed peas. Maybe a delayed black eyed pea will work some magic.
