What is/was your cake flavor?

Hi there. I picked a yellow cake with white chocolate mousse. I saw several people here have fresh strawberries or rasberries. I did not know they could do that. Is that extra? Where does the fruit go? In or On the Cake? Sorry i have alot of questions, due to our tight budget I cannot go to WDW for our planning session so i am doing everything over the phone, online, and through email. I love this board so much. You all have made this process so fun & easy. Thanks so much!

Have A Disney Day!!

I think it is a little extra for the fesh fruit. The fruit goes in the middle of the layers. It would be cake, then frosting, then a layer of strawberries, and then start over with cake etc.

Thanks, i am really excited. It sounds wonderful.

The most enticing cake flavor I've heard yet is the marble cake with peanut butter icing, yummy! I think I would also entertain chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, the ultimate. My DS16 would think he was in heaven :goodvibes

Ok you guys are getting my sweet tooth going :scared1: bad news when you are trying to loose weight lol....

I think i might do a red velvet cake w/ cream cheese frosting. this is one of my favorites however it has to be done well or else it tastes like food dye yuch! I love the deep red color and that goes with my theme...but i have never heard of anyone having this at Disney. I guess i will try it at the planning session...and others just in case.

we're going to taste the cake & filling combinations on our final planning session this november. we are looking at the vanille, chocolate sponge & the red velvet cake with the vanilla mousse filling, chocolate mousse filling, amaretto cream filling and strawberries with vanilla sponge maybe. we're looking at the 3 tier coral & shells cake design.

Our cake will be:

Bottom Layer: Almond Cake w/White Chocolate Filling
Middle Layer: Yellow Cake w/Strawberries
Top Layer: Chocolate w/White Chocolate Filling

Just had cake testing last month.....YUMMMMMMY.

It was very hard to chose.

We did chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling as well. I LOVE chocolate cake :)

We went for a non-traditional cake for our wedding (1998)

the centre keep under the dragons was a traditional sponge, the walls of the castle were fruit cake, and the towers were chocolate swiss roll....

There were some scrabbling over chocolate roll crumbs between adults and kids :teeth:

Hope everyone who is still planning their wedding has a great time.

Our day was a lot of fun :goodvibes

I think that is possible..actually I just contacted a woman named shelley at impressions. She is going to be doing our invites and programs and supplying us with the castle top! Disney actually does not make these white chocolate cake toppers(to my understanding) they come from this dealer who is the authorized disney dealer in terms of stationary programs place cards etc. I believe the small castle is like $145 you can check it out for yourself at www.fairytalewedding.com .
Good Luck :goodvibes

Bumping this up and hoping to get more cake reviews. :) I am trying to decide on cake flavors. I think one layer will be yellow with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries. Has anybody had this one? Not sure about the other one yet.
