What is up with coupons lately?!?!?

I just don't get these new $1 off 4 or $1 off 5 ones..... It really doesn't make the coupon worth it if it's a higher priced item (like Progresso soup which is about $1.65/can)
Well, it doesn't make the coupon as 'worth it' as it would if the coupon were per item - but if it's a product you're going to use anyway, isn't any savings better than no savings?

Yup. There are some items I'd like to try, but I'm not going to buy 4 or 5 if I'm not sure if I'll like it. There was a coupon for the new Healthy Choice steamer things, and it was $1 off 5. Not gonna happen!
If I PM you my address, would you send me the coupon? They're really not bad - especially the Asian-style beef one.

the store we normally shop at had a huge 10 for $10 sale this week (so each was $1.00). Not a single coupon to be found in paper or online for ANY of the items.
Recent/current couponing advice indicates items go on sale about four-five weeks after coupons appear in the paper.

I really miss my redplum coupons and longer experation dates. I used to do the grocergame and averaged 40-50 pect off. Now I'm lucky to get 30. Our papers no longer get redplum. Called and company said it only does online coupons for my area :(. And they stink compaired to what I got in the paper. Add really short use dates and it getting really hard to stock up for my family. I'm not buying 2 papers to get half the coupons with half the time to use them.

Most of the newspapers have really crummy coupons in November and December. I guess they figure everybody is busy with the holidays, spending more money then usual and just don't need or won't use coupons. Luckily I noticed that this Sunday's newspaper had a lot of good coupons to rebuild my inventory with.

I use coupons.com and eversave.com and they have pretty good coupons, but just like the papers, around the holidays not so good.

To be honest I haven't really noticed a lot of coupons in my area requiring multiple purchases for $1, etc.

We only have one store here that doubles coupons, and that's only on Wednesdays and has ridiculous rules: it will only double your first 5 coupons, up to a value of $1 each, with a $25+ purchase.

So true! I try to get there on Wednesdays with my plan of attack and they're usually out of half of the stuff I want which makes it even MORE frustrating. Unfortunately, I haven't been impressed with the sales at Cub Foods lately either. :headache: I am still pretty happy with the coupons we get in inserts here, but I sure wish KMart would do double coupons again sometime soon. That's the only time I shop there.

I'm glad it's not just me thinking that a lot of coupons stink lately! To be honest (hanging head) I haven't been able to get into seriously using coupons since we moved to WA state. Nobody doubles coupons, I don't have a CVS, Walgreens stopped doing their rebates...I just can't get motivated. I still use random coupons here and there but nothing like I used to. I just try to take advantage of store sales but get most of my food at Walmart and Costco.

Having lived on the west coast I was use to never seeing a double coupon day, but hearing about them. Since having moved to the east coast I have become spoiled by them. But we're moving back to the Spokane area come summer, so those days will be over. Needless to say, I can relate.
