I usually fly to Orlando and get a Ding! fare or even the regular fare is usually under $100 one way on SW. However, I cannot find a flight for my December trip for less than $200 each way. May have to cancel my trip altogther, just waiting to see if any cheaper airfare comes along.

Anyone have any luck finding decent airfares in December?

Thanks!

Air Tran has been my cheapest option since they started flying out of here. I fly out of PHL.

What happens if you book Airtran and a cheaper fare on SW magically appears? Are those fares cancellable?

Thanks!

I believe so, if I recall correctly, this is what happened to our family our first trip to DW

your dates as listed in siggie are very close to Xmas, i'd book something now or pass...did u run the info thru bing's farecast to see what they predict?

fyi, I check my rates a couple times a week jik they've dropped, they are now over $400 pp:eek:almost double what we originally paid few months ago.

lol - good one! Seriously, you can cancel them, and you'll receive an airtran credit good for one year minus $75 per passenger. Thus, realistically, they're not cancellable.

Where are you traveling from and on what dates? I book airfare with Airtran quite a bit so perhaps I can help..

That's the problem. Because Christmas falls on a Friday this year, most school districts have the entire week before the holiday off. This is the second busiest week of the entire year at WDW---only the week after that will be busier. Worse-than-Easter busy.

I second the idea of checking farecast, but I'd buy anything at $350 or less for those dates.

My flight dates are flexible. I've been looking at fares anywhere from 12/17-12/23 and all in between. I'm halfway between San Antonio & Austin so I can fly from SAT, Houston, or Austin. And of course checking all airports around MCO but would love MCO and just do ME.

I've never used Bing, does it work? I've used YAPTA to no avail.
Thanks!

$350 or less?!?!?! Yikes. I'm balking at Airtran $252 RT. :lmao: I hate stops and SW usually flies Nonstop. I guess I've become a bit of a travel snob.

Oh my. Thinking about booking the Airtran tix now but I've heard so many horror stories about Airtran. Plus you have to factor At Least $30 extra each way for bag fees!

Dings used to be so EASY to get! :headache: Dang!

New to the Transportation board and starting to plan a trip to WDW for Nov 2010. We will be flying from SFO or OAK.
What is "farecast"?:confused3
I need to start budgeting how much the airfare is going to cost us. Will this help?
TIA!

I was going to remind you about the AirTran coupons out, but you have to use them by Dec. 18...guess you could always use them for the way there at least...you'd save $25/person

I kept holding out for a really good DING! for our November trip. I ended up with $59 (one way) which is pretty good. But I did notice that about a week later, the DING! offers just stopped. I have only gotten one more since then and it was not a good deal. It looks like they dropped off when they got into December offers. Good luck with that!:wizard:

Where do I find the Airtran coupons please?

Thanks!
