What is This Wet Stuff Falling on Us? September 2021 Food and Wine TR! (RL Update 10/2!!)

The baby Yoda picture is really cute. We had a Photopass shoot with some poses that should have had an image added, but they never put them it.

I love the baby Yoda one, it really is adorable! That's too bad about missing the images in your photopass pictures, I wonder if they could add them in for you?

I have the opposite - I usually lead and my husband takes over the lead at the end. My downfall is always the rings.

Oh, I hate the rings! They always seem to bounce off!

Day 4, Part 3: A New Favorite Lunch Spot!

We last left off with us browsing some shops while waiting for our mobile order time to come up. Around 11:15 we headed back into the park for our mobile order at Docking bay 7! We arrived right around our return time so I hit the we’re here button and we waited. It was about a 5 minute wait before we got the message we could proceed inside. The CM checked my phone and let us in.

We got in line behind this group of young guys, who apparently were super confused because somehow they ended up in the mobile order line and didn’t have a mobile order. It took a while for the CM to work that out with them, all the while holding up the rest of the line. Finally the CM ushered them to the side so the rest of us could go pick up our food.

Once we had our food in hand we headed to the dining area outside. We found a great table in the shade and dug into our meals!

We both got the Batuuan Beef and Crispy Topato Stir-fry, and I got the Gold Squadron Lager, which is my favorite from Oga’s so I was thrilled to see it here too!

The food was amazing! We were really impressed and agreed this will be a new regular lunch for us. The beer was also, as always, great. I really wish I could get this beer at home!

After lunch we started making our way out of the park and lucked out to catch the Pixar cavalcade!

I think Buzz forgot that there were people on both sides of the path, he never once turned to our side in the video I took. :rotfl2:

Ok, so we didn’t catch the whole thing, really just the end, but it’s always so great to see the characters!

Before leaving, we stopped by the stores first to get all my goodies. I ended up getting an Up shirt with Dug on it, this really cute set of bowls (see below), a set of plates (see below), a cat coffee mug (again, see below), and a dog photo frame! I had searched for the photo frame back in April but couldn’t find it, so was thrilled to find it this time!

Once I was done spending way too much money, we made our way out. We decided to take the skyliner back, which is always a fun way to travel.

Mickey and Minnie photobomb!

Soon we were back at the YC and getting ready for a dip in the pool. Just before we headed down I tried for the 1PM BG and got BG 139! Yay!

We then headed down to the pool for a nice relaxing afternoon floating in the lazy river.

Next up: That’s a Lot of Coffee!

I never think of ordering from here but it looks like a good place to eat. :)

We love riding the Skyliner for fun, even if it is a bit of a walk to the YC. ;) We've done it many times.

I love Docking Bay 7! I'm not a vegetarian but I adore the plant-based meatballs with hummus and cucumber-tomato relish. SO, so good! I am still bitter about the people who stole the sporks in the early days as souvenirs so now it's regular utensils (or can purchase a spork). Those plates and bowls are super cute! I will have to look for them on my next trip. I think we've talked about this before but my shopping habit has really reduced with the lack of package delivery. I have no desire to lug packages around with me and then usually forget when it's time to leave. Really hope that service returns soon!

We never thought to eat her previously either, but we wanted to try something new this trip and opted to check it out. I'm so glad we did, it was so good!

It is really fun to ride, and I actually prefer it to the boats to get back to the YC most of the time!

We love it now too, so happy we decided to try it out! I had heard about the sporks, but I didn't realize it was at this place. Bummer people were stealing them so they've switched to regular utensils.

I'm obsessed with the plates and bowls, my mom thought I was crazy for buying them both but I couldn't resist! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I think we've talked about the resort shipping before, I really wish they would bring that back soon too. Although my wallet is happier these days without it!

Day 4, Part 4: That’s a Lot of Coffee!

After our dip in the pool we decided to pop into Epcot for a bit for some more food. We really wanted to finish up the cheese crawl, so made our way over to The Swanky Saucy Swine for the pork rinds with pimento cheese. I also picked up a glass of the zinfandel. The wine was good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the pork rinds, the cheese was tasty but the pork rinds were too crispy for my liking.

We found a picnic table by the water to eat at, but after about 5 minutes sitting there we were getting pretty miserable in the blaring sun, so we packed up the food and put it in my moms bag and started to make our way out of the park.

On the way out we decided to swing by Appleseed Orchard since I really wanted to pick up the tumbler there and since we were there might as well pick up a drink as well! I ended up getting the Green Apple Sour Ale.

I was surprised to find there was no signs or anything indicating you could pick up the tumbler at this booth, the only way I knew was because it was in the festival passport. So I asked the CM if they even had them, thinking since they weren’t on display they may have sold out, but fortunately they did!

The CM at the checkout told me I could get my drink in the tumbler, but when I went to pick up the drink I was told they weren’t allowed to do that. Not a big deal, and probably would be best to clean the tumbler before using it!

Once I had my drink in hand we headed out of the building and found some rocks just outside but still in the shade to enjoy the drink. I think we were pretty exhausted at this point since I didn’t get a picture of the drink, but it was really good and refreshing!

Here’s a picture of the tumbler, it was expensive but I absolutely love it, I use it all the time.

Once I finished the beer we finally headed out and back to the room. We were wiped out at this point and needed a long break from the heat.

After getting back to the room and resting a bit I noticed we were out of coffee so I popped my head out into the hall to see if there were any housekeepers around I could ask for more, and lucky day, there was a housekeeper right outside our door! I asked her for some extra coffee, and she was great and gave me this big bag of pods! Wahoo!

She also gave me a few handfuls of shampoo and conditioner and offered to clean our room, but since we wanted to nap we opted out of the clean.

Next up: If They’re Not Offering a Fireworks Dinner Package, We’ll Create One!

Epcot gets really hot on a sunny day, especially the World Showcase. Disney needs to add more trees.

I always ask for more coffee. It is the first thing I do after we check into the room. They never leave enough coffee.

It really does, that park definitely needs more shade!

That's a great idea! I never realize we're out normally until the morning when I need it! I'll need to remember to ask for more when we check in next time!

Love that mug! Food and wine is on my radar for some year...

It is really awesome, and it has a rubber bottom so doesn't slide, perfect for drinks outside!

Yay for a future Food and wine trip! Maybe next year?

Mini RL Update. So my February trip is starting to look a bit less likely these days. My house has decided to be a jerk and break appliances for fun over the last few weeks. First my washer stopped working, then my microwave, and just tonight my oven (thank goodness it waited until after Thanksgiving!). The washer I can probably get repaired, but finding someone around here to even attempt to repair a microwave is impossible, and the oven is pretty old and needs repairs pretty much yearly these days, so it looks like those two are getting replaced, which sadly eats away at my vacation fund.

It's a bummer, but these things happen, and now I know to keep a separate vacation fund and home repair fund! I've also found myself in an awkward position of not having any appliance to cook with for the time being! Fortunately my mom had a brilliant idea of grilling, which is a great idea, even if it is in the 30s/40s here. Although to be fair I have been known to grill over the winter anytime the temps get above 40, so this is pretty normal for me!

Anyways, the trip isn't officially cancelled yet, so there is a slight chance it's still on. Just going to have to wait and see if the oven is worth repairing at this point or if I need a brand new one. Just a rough few weeks, but let's face it, adulting is hard sometimes. Fingers crossed my luck turns around soon!

Sadly, probably not. We are going in Feb 2022 for 2 weeks, so there's no way I'll get him down there again for Food and Wine in 2022...sadly, I am in love with someone that doesn't love Disney as much as I do!! ;)

adulting is hard sometimes
It's the worst!! Fingers crossed that you can get by with some minor repairs for the time being and still make your trip happen!

We really enjoyed Appleseed Orchard too. I loved the cider.

Sweet!

Oh I hear you! Our kitchen appliances are 16 years old and we are hoping they last a bit longer. Having three kids in university at once is taking ALL our money these days!

Sending pixie dust!:tink:

Do you have a separate wall oven or is it part of a range? We had a wall oven that was very old and getting one to fit the existing space was difficult.

Aw, but two weeks in Feb isn't too shabby! Maybe F&W for 2023?

It's the worst!! Fingers crossed that you can get by with some minor repairs for the time being and still make your trip happen!

It really is, I don't know why I was so excited to grow up when I was a kid. I was pretty dumb :rotfl2:

There may actually be another way for the trip to happen, but more on that later!

It's such a great booth! I hope they keep it around.

Yeah, great timing and I'm so happy she gave us a whole bag of the pods, they ended up lasting the rest of the trip!

Oh I hear you! Our kitchen appliances are 16 years old and we are hoping they last a bit longer. Having three kids in university at once is taking ALL our money these days!

Fingers crossed they do! I always hear that the older the appliance, the longer they last. Based on my parents kitchen, where in the last two years they finally replaced the fridge and oven they bought in the 80s ( ), it seems to be true!

Sending pixie dust!:tink:

Thanks, and I have to say, it seems like the pixie dust worked! I can't reveal details yet, but hopefully in the next day or so!

It's part of a range, hopefully I don't have to replace it just yet, I really do like this one! That's frustrating about the wall oven, I never thought about having to fit a new one in an existing space, I would have thought (wrong) they would all be roughly the same size.
