What is this TAG fairy thing?

I haven't been hanging out enough...I guess!?
Can anyone tell me what this tag fairy thing is all about?
I feel lost, and stupid!

Don't feel stupid!!
Under your name you have the "default" tag --Dis Veteran. You can change it to say something else, if you want. I changed mine and to say the comment about my daughter.
However--the tag fairy is the only one that can add color(it's now in pink!!) and she can also change your default tag to quote something silly you may say one day..........hence my 2nd tag!!So always mind your P's and Q's as she is always listening and watching................you'll see..........

Don't feel stupid! I can tell you all about the tag fairies, I've even seen them.

They are usually over-grown children wearing very tight, green leotards with Mickey/Minnie ears. The female fairies (FF) wear tu-tus, while the men fairies (MF) wear a darker colored green klit. I think it has to do something with the green ribbon thing. I could be wrong? Maybe some of the tag fairies can clarify that?

The FF float gracefully over these boards. However, they usually can be found "checking out" the Friday's Post (Community Board). The MF are never seen. I think it has something to do with producing all that pixie dust that is thrown around the Community Board.

If you are kind to the tag fairies they will "tag" you with colorful words under your username. Some of the tags are cute, embarrassing and very funny.

In order to be tagged you need to post on the The DIS. I would suggest posting on the Community Board --- that's where they hang out. The subject of your post will be, "Calling All Tag Fairies." You will then proceed to type this message:

Come out and play
Oh Tag Fairies, Oh Tag Fairies
Come out before May

I love Disney and with all my heart
And "The DIS" is a major part
Posting on these boards is what I do

I just want to thank you for making it clear. I have been a lurker and sometime poster for a while. I have always wondered what the tag fairy is. I have even asked for a tag. All that time I really had no idea what a tag really was. confused:
Thank you thank you for giving the first detailed explanation on what a tag is. Maybe some day I will get a tag.
