What is there not to miss around DLR?

What should I not miss around DLR???? Disney outlet? special scenery? fun free things to do (not interested in other parks besides DL and CA).??

You might want to quantify this. Do you have a car or would you be getting there by foot or bus? How much extra time do you have, and afternoon or full day?

I mean the Grand Canyon is a nice side trip but may not be practical.

Sure!!! We are renting a car, flying in from Philly, staying at HoJo, have 5 days (I think we will get a 4 day pass).....Thanks@!!!!!

Maybe you should go to a beach or Hollywood Blvd. A day to the San Diego zoo or Safari Park(SD Wild Animal Park.).

Angels Stadium and Honda Center (Anaheim Ducks NHL hockey) are about 4 miles away. Dodger Stadium and Staples Center (Lakers and Clippers bball, Kings hockey) are about 35 miles away. If you like college sports there's plenty of that - USC, UCLA, etc.

What else? Beaches, mountains, deserts, TV tapings (Leno, Kimmel, numerous sitcoms), movie studio tours, Griffith Park Observatory, Hollywood Bowl, etc etc. There's a parade in Padadena on Jan 1st. Are we getting warm?

The Griffith Park Observatory is pretty cool, and there is horseback riding in the park as well as a great Western Heritage museum, the Autry, if your family is interested in that sort of thing.

The only Disney stores that I can recall are at the mall, or the outlet up Harbor in Fullerton, but they're not all that great, although the Harbor one has adult costumes (or did when I was there).
