We did this last February, and had cold weather, and not too much sunshine. I think we were just unlucky. It can be a hit or a miss, but once you reach the carribbean, it should be warm, and sunny.
Did Eastern same week in 2003. It was a little cold at Port Canaveral but by the next morning you could enjoy the pool deck. We had perfect Beach weather in St Maarten and St Thomas. It was very pleasant at Castaway Cay but was a little windy and the water was cold.
We went Jan. 21 2005 and had great weather. Sunny, mid 70's, cool at night. We swam almost every day, even at CC, gasp! It was a little windy some days. But, the cruises the week before and the week after didn't have as much luck. I believe neither docked at CC.
We were on the 12-27-03 to 1-3-04 Eastern cruise. Cool at the Port, but by Sunday afternoon it was warm enough to walk around on the very windy deck in shorts and T shirts. Beautiful in St. Martin and St. Thomas. The water temperature at Castaway Cay was fine, about the same as the air temperature. My always cold wife was comfortable, and we were snorkeling in a light rain.
Years ago we went later in January on the Norway, only issue we had was it water was warmer than the air temperature, so we were fine in the water, just a little cool getting out.
We're gonna be on the same cruise and I was concerned about the same thing after reading some of the trip reports, especially not being able to get into CC. Would really be interesting if someone kept info on that from the trip reports.
Any statistics nuts out there? This ssould be easy for you fantasy baseball league geeks.
