What is the stupidest assumption you have made

Oh so many over the years....
Ones that "stand out"...
* Thinking when I was little that Mr. Rogers house on his TV show was the house he really lived in.
* Believing my husband meant his marriage vows and that his morals would not take a nose dive. That we would grow old together.
* Thinking that everyone knows TP goes OVER not under...I had no idea until I started reading the DIS that there are so many who have been led astray.

When I first started teaching Sunday School I prepared my first session with a set of discussion questions with follow up questions because (get this) I assumed I knew how the kids would answer the initial questions.

In my house the TP goes over in the two full bathrooms. But the powder room is so small that going over means absolutely no elbow room. And that's the one guests generally use, because the others are attached to bedrooms. So the TP goes under in there.

My only bathroom is so small under is the only way it works as well.

Mine is that I assumed breastfeeding would be easy because its what your body is meant to do. Like, how hard can it be? Good lord I was wrong Its just one of the assumptions I made about parenting before I was a parent lol

That right there is an entire series of other threads. Gawd, one of the things I love most about the DIS is the sweet innocence of those posters without kids that are still completely confident about how it works.
