Hi there,
We are going to Disney World this week and my kids would like to do the quests. I noticed that the tomorrowland quest says that is expired on 12/31/05- is that true? :( I will bring the printout anyway, just in case.

Does anyone know if there are new quests or tours going on?

Any help with answers to the questions would be great! My five year old is especially excited!!

Thanks! :worship:

Currently you can turn in the Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland & Tomorrowland quests. There are no tours and no new quests as of Monday 2/20/06.

You can still buy the hat (at Le Chapeau), the candy (at the Frontierland candy shop), the pin (at the Frontierland pin shop) and the t-shirt (at Sir Mickey's) to receive the card for the respective items.

Hi,

I was there on Monday. The 4 quests mentioned above are still going. I asked if the Haunted Mansion or Pirate Quest were coming back in some form and the answer was "I don't know".

Everyone knows I had trouble with the 2 gold ear cards I got in December. I took them back to the hat shop on Monday and explained to the lady and she gave me 2 new cards. I told her I was going down right away to VMK central and enter them, if these 2 cards didn't work what would happen then? She said that no one had complained about them before.

So I went down and logged into my account and entered the first card and got....”A Happiest Celebration on Earth pin” --again. So I left the pop up message up and asked one of the clerks to come look at the sign. "Ed" came around I explained to him the whole story and he looked at the screen and said... "That isn’t right". FINALLY someone who gets it.!!

He said he had to go talk to the expert in the game, and went back to the counter a few feet away and talked to a girl behind the counter that looked like she was about 15 years old. Then he came back with a new card and he entered the code and it came up with gold ears. So I asked him about the second card. He entered his self into the computer and got...."Happiest Celebration on Earth Pin". So we both went and talked to the girl and she said since I bought 2 hats and got two incorrectly functioning cards I get another card. So I went right away and entered it and got the 2nd gold ears.

It only took me 2 trips to WDW, 2 months of emails and agony, about $370 (tickets, gas, and hats times 2 trips) to get these 2 "free" VMK items. I know someone here on DIS called it “a frivolous complaint”, but it was only frivolous to them, not to me. It was the principle of the thing- I paid a lot of money to get my hand on the cards. I didn’t count the food we eat in the park as part of the cost, but I did have to spend money to get there -TWICE -and money to get in the gate –TWICE - and money for the hats, so to me it was not “frivolous” in the least.

So the moral of this story is....if you buy a hat and get a hat code card, try it before you leave the park. I didn't have any trouble with the other code cards. Please PM me about what happens to you if you buy a hat for the gold ear code. I really want to know.

So the hat shop has bad cards??? I am taking a trip to WDW in June and plan on doing all the quests and such while I am there..... I will be sure to check the cards that I get.

And btw so glad to hear you finally got your ears!! I do hope you enjoyed your trips to the World, despite the hassle of the VMK stuff.

Perhaps the hat shop had a bad batch of cards, but I know I've had atleast 11 or 12 different cards from the hat shop and everyone of them worked as they should have. It can't hurt to check, but be aware all of them aren't bad.

Aeryn, that may be true, about not all cards being bad, but if making sure you get what your supposed to is important to you, I think taking the few minutes to log into VMK while still at the park, is the way to go, Ya know?

All of my codes worked and provided the items they were supposed to provide.

I just went to WDW about a week ago and I did the Tomorrowland Quest without any problems. :thumbsup2

Laura-

I do not know if you meant it this way but the tone of your post was very scarastic in nature to me. I know with written words sometimes feelings are hard to express.

I think that getting what you pay for is important to everyone, Aeryn was only stating that not all the cards are bad. She received cards that were all alright and I received cards for the Holiday Quest that were bad and a VMK CM gladly gave me new ones.

It does happen but Aeryn was only stating that hers were good that she received from the Hat shop, as were Tolkien7's.

I had 3 cards from the hat shop for the gold mickey ears (they weren't all for me lol), one of them did not work. Also, my teleportation magic did not work from Tomorrowland Quest and the Explorer's Suitcase Sofa actually had no code at all. It was blank! So watch out for that. Hope this helps and have a good trip! :)

WOW a blank code spot! I hope you kept that card in collecters terms that might be a valuable card....thanks for the heads up on that I might not have noticed that before your post but now will look for it.

I did not mean to sound sarcastic. I was mearly trying to prevent others from going through what Cat did, and to check their cards before they go, esp if it is a big deal to them..... Not everyone gets all good cards. That is a fact. Some people get all working cards... that is also fact. But if you dont check them before you leave, you can be let down, and not be able to do anything about it until you GO BACK to the park. And for some, that can be a long time.

Laura

Oh good...it is hard to tell what the tone is sometimes on a post...I know mine have been guilty of coming off poorly before.

I agree like I said, some of my holiday quest cards codes were bad(a very sweet DISer sent them to me and some worked and some did not)I got in touch with VMK and they gave me new codes without any hassle. I did not go to the parks to do this.
