Actually the Florida sales tax just went up, it's now 6.5%.

Yikes!, where did you hear that? We live in Florida, and we are still paying 6%. Maybe Orange county has some kind of extra tax. This has been known to happen in some areas of Florida.

It's posted on Deb Will's site that the ticket prices are now with 6,5% tax and I know that all the hotels except the All Stars and AKL, the tax went up to 11.5%. I'm guessing it's an additional county tax being added.

Yes, Orange County tax is 6.5% now. It started on January 1st. I believe the extra half cent is for school construction but last night on the news they said they are still going to fall short of needed money.
