What is the possibility of switching rooms after you book?

I am just about ready to book an October cruise and like the price that I've gotten with Dreams Unlimited, but I'm not totally happy with the room location. It is room 7554. I'd prefer to be a little further from the elevators. I asked if there was something else and was told that at the moment there was not but we could consider switching later.

What are the chances that I'll be able to get away from the elevators a little later on??

Also have you had any experience with a room near the elevators?

I switched after I booked. I was originally booked into 8048, and then I found out taht 8032 has a much nicer balcony, so I switched.

I have been by the elevators and never had a problem. Actually it was very convenient. I was near the aft elevators, I am not sure if you are near the mid ones or not. I know the mid-elevators seem to be more busy.

Like mmouse37, I actually prefer to be near the elevators. The best room, in my opinion, that we've stayed in was 7106, right off the aft elevator lobby. I thought it was very convenient, and I never hear noise attributable to the elevators, and no more noise than anywhere else on that deck. I think you'll have no problems at all with your current room.

But... if you really don't like your location, there is a chance to change. We actually changed to 7106 on that trip, about a month before we sailed. I'd suggest calling DCL from time to time, to see if anything else in category 5 has opened up. I'd say do this every day during the week leading up to the 60-day point prior to the trip. The bulk of cancellations will happen this week, as it is the last chance to cancel without penalty.

I have good news! :) I got another room a little further away from the elevators :) 7576
Thank you for your advice!!

Can DCL change your room once u have a confirmation with a room # on it. This happened to someone traveling with us. Was aft, and now is very forward and afraid of getting seasick. Sold out cruise, so what do u think was up with that?
