use FW bus transportation to if given the choice again?
We have a car for the week there and I am wondering which takes the longest to get to?
TIA

Only one park?

We were at FW last weekend and wish we had a car for going to AK, Epcot and MGM.

AK is just a long way away and adding some long waiting time for the busses can be a pain.

The problem with Epcot is the route they sometimes use to get there. Much faster by car when they take the long way. Then, from the time I got to the bus loop at Epcot to the time I got back to our MH, 1 hour and 5 minutes had passed.

We wound up waiting 25 minutes for our bus to MGM. Funny thing is, we were 1 minute into the drive to MGM and another bus past us heading back to FW to pick up more guests. At least their wait was only a few minutes.

Will see how things are in Dec.

Why is it like that? we went last time about 10 years ago it was much faster to get everywhere.. what has changed? I thought AK would be long just because of how far it is but Epcot is rather close that seems like forever.. yikes...

I am not looking forward to that with 3 young kids in tow!

Another option to getting to EPCOT is taking the bus to TTC and monorail to EPCOT. It's not really faster, but a lot more fun.

The only park we do not drive to is MK. We will sometimes use Disney Transportation from MK to another park and back to FW but from FW it is just much easier to walk the 10 steps to the car from the camper and then drive. It is a big advantage to drive especially if you want to go to a water park (for bringing a cooler and the extra stuff) or 2 or more parks.

We also drive everywhere except to Magic Kingdom. We really enjoy the boat ride over to MK...thats part of the fun! But, as far as everything else, driving is much easier and faster for us.

I thought I saw on the "Transportation" board, that they are testing new bus routes. No longer will there be a FW bus to the TTC. The FW bus will go to WL, and then everyone will have to transfer from there. Anyone else hear about this?

We drive to AK, MGM and Epcot. We have gotten too fustrated waiting for buses. Even though they say the internal buses run every 10-15 minutes, we have waited 30 minutes and then 2 buses arrive at the same time. Then you have to wait for another bus to take you to the parks which even wastes more time. It's also a pain to have to wait at the parks for a bus when you are tired and just want to get home. The buses are sometimes full and you have to stand for the entire ride and that is definately no fun.

So needless to say, we like to drive.

Water parks! I don't like riding back wet. If we take the bus we take a change of clothes and often will do Downtown Disney after because Typhoon Lagoon and DD are on the same route.

Otherwise I don't mind Disney transportation.

We've been to WDW many times over the years and I do believe we used to have to transfer at WL or at least stop to pick up passengers there before proceeding to TTC.

We have also gotten into the habit of driving to all the parks with the exception of MK.

There are times when we are relaxing and will ride buses to some of the resorts ... but on our few park days, we try to maximize every minute!!

I would never take transportation to Boardwalk or DTD again ... last year took forever - much easier to drive.

Having said all that, if someone didn't want to rent a car, I think they'd be fine without one. It's just that IF YOU DO HAVE ONE, you have options.
