What Is The Most Underated Resort?

--BoardWalk Inn--I completely agree with the other posters. It's such a wonderful place to stay with a great theme, and yet it never seems crowded. It's definitely one of our top resorts.

--Grand Floridian--I feel that this resort is underrated in a different sense. There is certainly a good deal of hype about it, but I think that the large amount of negative opinions are sometimes unjustified. I have loved my stays at the GF, and I've always felt pampered when staying there. Perhaps some of the lack of interest also comes from people who worry that it's not family friendly. We've seen kids of all ages having a blast when we've been there.

I agree with the OP....with one small exception. ;)

OKW
POR
BWI

In December I'm planning on staying at POR with my 4yo and in Jan I'm planning on splitting my stay between Pop (where my 11yo wants to stay) and POFQ. I've never stayed at either of the PO resorts and am looking foward to it.

I think the reason that we've never stayed at BW is because we were afraid it would be too noisy, but I love the look of the resort.

T&B

We stay there most of the time and believe it is not noisy at all. Even staying on the boardwalk side is quiet. I was very surprised about this, thought we also would hear the people on the board walk. You don't hear anything in your room.

I would say Boardwalk for underrated. All the monorail resorts have a big group of fans as do AKL and WL (my Fav) but you never hear much about BWI. It has great location, lots of restaurants and stuff to do a good themeing.

We have stayed at ASMo BWV and FW. And loved them all.

IMHO, BWV in NOT underrarted as I tried and failed many many times to get a ressie for my SIL & BIL for the last week of Oct into the frist week of Nov. IMPOSSIBLE!!

The word is definetly out about that location, period. (including BCV YC Swan and Dolphin all full!!)

So my vote for underrated goes to FW cabins. LOVED it-has soooo much to do for kids and the cabins are neat clean and really cool. In fact we make the resort a must-do every trip even if we arent staying there!!::yes::

I have to agree with this even though I don't have experience elsewhere... It was a wonderful resort that seems to get underated from negative opinions.

Isn't the BW one of the smaller resorts? If so that could have something to do with the difficulty of getting rooms.

When we ate at Spoodles last week my DH and I couldn't believe that we hadn't tried BW before. As a whole family we've stayed at Poly, AKL, and Swan and I've stayed at CS, CR, WL, CBR, and Pop with either my DH or one of my kids (I like WDW :teeth: ).

BW will be on our list soon. I'm assuming that their discount rates are close to what the monorail resort rates are?

I finally 'fessed up to my DH that I have that popular goal of staying at all the onsite resorts. I'm going to make a Disney nut out of him yet!

BWV is very popular among DVC members during the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, which includes the time period you were trying to reserve. Even members probably can't get it at this point. If there were any unreserved rooms, they would be release for cash reservations 30 days out.

Boardwalk Inn is easily the smallest of the Deluxe resorts.

I agree. Very reasonable price for full kitchen, separate bedroom. Great choice for families with young children. Very peaceful too!

The BWI only has about 378 rooms, while the GF has over 800. It's the smallest resort on property.

We always have BW views and with the door to the balcony shut, it's very quiet. Even with it open or being out on the balcony isn't noisy. Our MK view from GF concierge actually had more noise (from Gasparilla's).

The fact that it is a small resort and my dates were during the food and wine festival are both understood.

My point is I dont consider it "underrated".:wave2:

Swan/Dolphin - price and location can't be beat (teacher's discount)

Contemporary - huge rooms and bathrooms. Felt much more deluxe than Beach Club, where the potty made me claustrophobic.

Without a doubt, the Swan and Dolphin hotels are under rated, especially when you get a room at the discounted rate. Location is fantastic, the best in WDW.

Definetely the Swan and Dolphin . O.K. that is with the nice govt. disc. we get. The location, pool etc, basketball court, beach, beach volleyball, swan boats etc. Those heavenly beds. Turn down service at night with chocolates. All this for less than half the price of a disney deluxe. The swan has the 1st bus pickup , oh I could go on and on. I also saw for easter the childrens activites at the fw cabins were amazing. I wish we could consider staying there, but with ds asthma trees, lots of grass etc. is just out of the question.

Chalk up another vote for the Boardwalk! I love this resort (and not only because we had our wedding reception there!) The location is great, the amenities are great, the atmosphere is great....it's greater than great! Their Honeymoon cottages are also too cute!

My vote is for the POFQ. What a charming and relaxing resort.
