What is the most popular use year??

Just wondering.............

Mine is June. Not for any particular reason since we bought resale at OKW. It does work great for us as we vacation in July/August!!

Rosemary...we have a February use year.

You could always do a poll to find out. I'd do it but I'm not sure which months are not eligible as use years.

I really think it doesn't matter that much, because over the years of use you may change your time of travel. Ours is September.

Ours is August but we typically like to go in Dec. We bought in without really thinking much about the use year.

I never thought about use year when I bought in.I thought you just got what they were offering at the time.Isn't that correct?

I have April, we like to go in May and December. I intentionally waited until September (1999) to buy because that's when they were selling April. They were going by the 100% banking deadline. I actually wanted May, but they don't sell May. I think they skipped some months to cut down on bookkeeping.

Maybe this is the accountant in me, but -

I would imagine they divide the total number of points available for the resort into 8 equal portions, one for each use year, so one is no more popular than any other.

Why 8 instead of 12? Who knows .....

Mine is March, but that's the month I was there and bought in. Back then, I don't believe you had a choice, where as now there are more choices. ???

It was November when we bought in and received a June use year.How do they determine use year? And ,are you able to choose your use year when buying in now?

I, too, am curious about how the use year came about.

We bought in April and our use year is April. I guess I wrongly assumed when you bought is when you use year began.

Ours is April.

When we bought, our Vacation Guide asked us about the time or times of year we would be vacationing and worked around our schedule. This was done in case we had to cancel, we would still have time left in the use year to use our points without end of use year problems (or so I was told.)

Hi Rosemary,

When Mary and I decided to join we were informed that the best use year for our usual July 14 nights was August but then having been a member for a year or two, we find this to be the worst useyear possible. We have to borrow every other year and with living so far away and with my military commitments, it could make it pretty difficult for us and we could lose our points.
