What is the most cost effective way to do this?

We want to do 2 days in the park, then 1 day after our 9 night cruise. When purchasing the 3 day hopper, it says all the days have to be used within 5 days.

1. Is there any way around this?
2. I'm sure I can purchase a 2 day, then a 1 day but that is significantly more expensive.

What can I do here?

There's no way around it. If you buy a 3-day pass, all 3 days must be used during a 5-day period. Any unused days expire after 5 days once a pass has been used for park entry.
