My maiden name is french and it means fair or beautiful field. My married name mean local, and it's a city in England.

my married name means baker.

i think i like my maiden name's meaning more. :p

Our last name means dweller by the red cliff. It is German.

Well my married name was not there.. and it is Irish too.. but my maiden name, which is French, means before the fountain.. This was fun..thanks.

Cool....My maiden name is German and means a-God-Father....oooo maybe from the mob...lol!!!

My married name isn't there but I know its Irish.

My married last name is the name of a small town in Italy not far from Venice.

Mine is Hebrew in origin and means gracious.

Cool website!

That site was fun - but couldn't find my married name (but I know it means "pretty valley" in German), my maiden name, my MIL's maiden name, or my mother's maiden name. They aren't all that uncommon a name, either.

HOLLAND

(origin: Local) A name given to a native of that country, which was so called from Hollow-land, because it abounds with ditches full of water. Bailey is of opinion that the Danes who conquered Holland, so called it from an island in the Baltic of the same name, from ol, beer, drink. Why not from Hold land, the land taken and kept, held, governed?

My married name is not listed, but my maiden name means learned.

My first name means victory of the people
From the Greek name Nikolaos which meant "victory of the people" from Greek nike "victory" and laos "people". Saint Nicholas was a 4th-century bishop who, according to legend, saved the daughters of a poor man from lives of prostitution. He is now known as Santa Claus, the bringer of Christmas presents. He is the patron saint of children, sailors and merchants, and Greece and Russia. Nicholas was also the name of two czars of Russia and five popes.

My maiden name was Gaelic for a wide plain?!!! *So that makes it what a victory for the people on a wide plain?* lol

My Married name means... nothing. It was a made up name, when a Great great Grandfather of my DH was in the Swedish military and there were too many others with the same name, they made up a new one for him (that's the story anyway)

My Maiden name means... nothing really. Not the way it's spelled anyway. My Danish Great Grandfather immigrated and it was spelled wrong when he entered the country.

So neither name appears on lists, but the site was cool! Thanks for posting it.

Neither my married name nor my maiden name are listed on that website. My married name is rather common, I'm surprised it wasn't listed.

Mine is an English, occupational name referred to a person who made and sold tiles or covered buildings with them.

My maiden name means benefactor of man...

My married name means top of a mountain...
