Our DVC rep told us that there are members that stay nearly all year. But by the regulations in FL. your not allowed to. 11 months max, then you have to leave for a month.

I would spend that month at the one of the All Stars. :)

No, actually I would leave for the premium weeks. No need to spend all those extra points just because it is Christmas and Easter. ;)

Believe me, I have done the number crunching for the fantasy of living in WDW on points.

hey  calypso*a*go-go !!! how have you been ?? Any trips planned in the near future ???

I've been just dandy!!!

We're trying to work something out for the last week of August. DD starts high school in the fall so I'm afraid we're finally at the point where we need to travel only during summer and school holidays. Sure will miss those off-season crowds. :sad2:

Got any money going in that shoebox for an add-on yet? ;)

The points are for SSR.

Here's the official description:

The complete offering terms of a Membership in Disney Vacation Club are available in the offering plan available from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. Approximate retail value ("ARV") of each Grand Prize: US $83,701, which includes (i) the conveyance of a real estate interest in Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa or other Disney Vacation Club Resort chosen by Sponsor represented by 220 vacation points at the current membership price of US$22,220; and (ii) the payment of all annual dues (excluding any special assessments) during the time that the winner owns the real estate interest, which has an estimated value of US$35,559 (based upon the 2006 annual dues of US$3.98 per Vacation Point, escalated at 5% per year and discounted at 5.6%, the current Applicable Federal Rate, over 48 years); and (iii) any exchange fees incurred by the winner during the time that the winner owns the real estate interest, in exchanging, from time to time, the winner's vacation points for other vacation destinations, which has an estimated value of US$812 (assuming the winner exchanges vacation points every three years and a current exchange fee of US$95 escalated at 2.43% per year and discounted at 5.6%, the current Applicable Federal Rate, over 48 years); and (iv) a cash prize equal to US$25,110 to help defray payment of taxes payable as a result of winning the prize. Sponsor makes no representation or warranty that the cash portion of this prize will be sufficient to pay winner's tax liability.

Looks pretty sweet to me!!!

OK. So how do I get myself in the running for this prize? Is there a sweepstakes for this somewhere or do I need to be in the parks? Can someone post a link? Or is it in another thread somewhere?

i know this sound stupid  I know I should save my money in the bank where it can get some interest.. well I do that.. they take a lil amount every pay day with the credit union... and i take my $20 allowance bi weekly.... once I break my allowance :lmao: the change ends up in a new shoe box :rotfl: I have not opened the box it has been 4 months now !!!

I like the part about cash to defray the (approximate) taxes on the prize. Not even the Great Oprah helped people out with their taxes when "she" "gave away" the cars a few years ago.

I don't think it was stupid -- I think it was great! :goodvibes Just the fact that you were able to keep stashing that money away for so long without breaking into it is very admirable.

Shoot, the interest rates have been so low over the last few years that you probably would have wasted more money in gas driving back and forth to the bank than what you would have earned!

Keep up the good work. :woohoo:

What I was really surprised at was that they were even going to include cash to cover II exchange fees. They certainly thought of everything they could to make this a real dream come true...now if they could just send me that certified letter stating I won!
