We might have to leave midnight who is ten home alone for two night there would be plenty of food and water

I did consider boarding him at Disney

I have left my cat home alone for like a week before, BUT somebody came over to feed/water etc... every day that I was gone. I think she actually may have missed me just a little bit. I really think a cat would be OK home alone for 2 nights as long as there is a good supply of food and water. I wouldn't want to make it much longer than that though.

We've left them for 9 days. We set out extra food and water and someone came over to change out the litter boxes and check their food and water about halfway through.

We left our cats for a week recently. One of them stayed outside and one inside (the outside one won't use a litter box, so he can't stay inside with no one to let him out).

My son's girlfriend came over every day to give them fresh food and water. I don't see any issue with leaving out extra food and water and leaving them alone, but the cat staying inside has a tendency to gorge on food (and throw it up), so he couldn't be trusted with tons of extra food.

ETA...I don't see any issue at all with leaving a cat alone for 2 nights. They are pretty self sufficient.

I would have someone stop in and at least check in on the cat. We are going for 3 days next week and I am having someone stop in twice a day to feed/water and check in on them.

A day without someone coming by the check on them and feed them.

If I am going to be gone a second day, then I have someone come by. My cats are used to having someone around. I wouldn't feel right leaving them without a human checking on them. On top of that, my one cat has a medical condition that can go from "he's okay" to "he's going to die" in less then 2 days. But even if he didn't, there is no way I would just leave them.

My neighbor is not happy living in her neighborhood she is actively (sp) looking to move out of the neighborhood so if she moves we do have person A and B

Last resort no pun intended the place for pets at Disney even though Disney is the most pricey option they would be my first because I would not be waiting on my midnights care giver to gat my keys back

2 cats, 11 days. Filled up like six bowls with dry food, another six with fresh water, about three clean litter boxes, and left a key with a teenage relative and told her to come by mid-week and check them.

When we got home the cats didn't even acknowledge that we were home. Shot us dirty looks and went back to what they were doing.

It depends on the cats. Our boys are pretty spoiled and they were not happy with us for leaving them (48 hours) so Hotchkiss decided to poop on the couch.

Most cats are probably okay to be by themselves though for several nights as long as they don't already have separation anxiety.

Same as above. One night, no big deal. More than that and we have a neighbor come once a day to feed/litter/etc. Out of our three cats, though, two are psychotic and hide from strangers... or anyone who isn't us, so once we're gone anyone stopping by only sees one cat. As long as the food is gone and the litterbox seems appropriately used, we tell them not to worry about the hiding cats.

About 40 hours or so. Left home on early Friday morning and didn't return until Saturday night.

Anything longer than that we have DD stop by every day or bring the cat to her place.

I own a professional pet sitting company. As a pet professional I've seen a lot of situations over the years that make it very clear to me that cats especially, are quite social (even if you think they're not) and need to have human interactions. More so, I've walked into a client's home to find the cat with a box of Kleenex on it's head, I've found the litter box tipped over with litter spread out all over the floor, I've seen water bowls tipped over. I walked into a client's home once and couldn't find the cat. After a thorough search throughout the house, under beds, behind furniture and TVs, in the basement behind boxes, etc., I decided to search the upstairs bedrooms that all had the doors shut. Yes, sure enough, the housecleaning person had cleaned the day before and the kitty got shut up in the bedroom without food, water or litter box. Imagine what that would have been like had I only agreed to every other day or every few days visits.

My policy is at least once a day visits, although I have a few clients that have me come twice a day.

Do a Google search for professional pet sitters in your area - you'll have a much better trip with the peace of mind knowing that your furry family member is cared for by a professional. Insist that your pet sitter have pet sitters insurance, bonding, a website and is a member of a professional pet sitting organization such as Pet Sitters International or National Association of Professional Pet Sitters - you'll be glad you did! :-)

Without getting checked on, 2 nights was the limit. I have a timer feeder for wet food, a big bowl of dry food and two bowls of water. Any longer than that, we would have someone check on her or bring her to my sister's house. Now she's old and sick, so we board her with our vet if it's more than one night but still leave plenty of water and food.

We've left ours for 2 weeks. We leave the water dripping from the bathroom faucet in addition to about 3 bowls of water and tons of food, because he loves drinking from the bathroom faucet. We used to have someone come in every day or two to feed and check on him, but Tigger doesn't like strangers in his house, and this would upset him, he wouldn't eat, would go and hide, etc. Actually, he seems to much prefer this arrangement.
