What is the "key to the world?"

The best I've been able to tell, you can use this to charge just about everything you buy in the parks to your room. Is this correct? Is "the key" simply your room key? Or is it something special? Seems like a great way to put everything on your American Express card and get the points!!!

Any insights?

Its your room key,they also put you tickets on it.

It is your room key, and also, your ticket to all the parks..I'm not exactly sure about shopping with it though..

If you want to use it to charge you can. Let the CM know at check in. They will let you charge up to a set limit using your credit card, cash, traelers checks etc. If you reach the limit you go to your resort and put that amount on your credit card and you can begin again! If you are using DDP those credits are also on your key to the world. It really makes things quite convenient because you have less to carry around.

Do you have to purchase a "Magic Your Way" package to utilize this feature? We made our room res through CRO, and we're buying our tickets through Ticketmania. When we check in can I ask the CM to put the tickets onto our room key? Sure seems like an easy way to cut down on all the stuff you need to carry around.

Anyone out there know of any negative implications of this system? Seems like a no-brainer, but I haven't heard much about it.

Sorry, don't know about that! We have annual passes so have to carry those separately.
