What is the IG entrance to Epcot like at RD?

Definitely not Test Track. You are farther from Test Track at IG than you are from Soarin'.
I have no idea how they are going to handle World Showcase with FEA opening. Right now you can only go to France to Les Halles and otherwise through UK and Canada. Of course they let you through to Akershus. I would think it would be a tie to FEA from the Front Gate or IG. But someone probably will pull out a diagram and tell us the exact distance from either entrance to Norway

I did not try TT but I don't think you could do that any faster than Soarin'. I don't know about FEA.

We were thinking of driving to EPCOT since we have an 8am ADR at Akershus. So I have two questions:

Will we be allowed to valet park at the BC if we are not actually eating at the resort?
Can we get into the WS for the early breakfast using the IG entrance?

I'm not really - where would they park? or maybe everyone would Uber/cab it over to the Epcot resorts? Boardwalk has enough parking issues as it is and the gate guards are pretty strict over at BC/YC. I love the IG entrance because my kids did not do well in the crush at rope drop from the main entrance and it might be faster to get in the park but you really aren't beating anyone from the main gate. I've been at IG when it opened after 9 because of technical issues. People were pretty irate. Luckily there was a great cast member at the tapstyles that kept tempers down!

1. I do not know the answer to this. I have not read recent reports for BC for valet purposes. I think I have read some denied for self park, but I am not sure if this was the BC or a different resort.

2. You would be allowed in just as you would from the FW Entrance. You would walk through UK, Canada, WS Pavilion, and Mexico to get to Norway. The rope is up between Norway/China and somewhere in France (although you can get to Less Halles).

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm a total amateur, lol! So, does Disney transportation drop off at both entrances then? Or do you just get dropped off at front and then hot foot it over to IG? This will be good info for our trip!

No, they drop you at the front entrance. There is not a path from the front to the IG. It is convenient if you are staying in the Boardwalk resort area (BWI, swan/Dolphin,BC). You can also ride the boat over from Hollywood studios later in the day.

I have read so many posts on different message boards and FB groups from people who plan to use the IG speficially to get to FEA/A&E Meet and greet. I wonder if it will just be a mad house that they aren't used to there.

This is a strong possibility. I also think that if many more people decide to enter through IG valet parking at Boardwalk resorts will end unless you have an ADR.

Last December my daughter and I were able to beat the main gate guests to TT at rope drop although just barely, as we came around to corner to see the front of TT we then saw the main gate people running towards it. We just happened to be about 20 feet closer than they were. LOL

You can take a bus to DHS and then walk to Epcot's IG entrance if you really want to start your morning there instead of at the WS entrance. Unless you are going right when FEA opens, I would wait and see if you actually gain any time or what the crowds are.

I know that I have considered staying at the Epcot Resorts, but figured I would not do rope drop at Epcot and only hit it in the afternoons or evenings. With FEA, you might have more people picking Epcot resorts just for rope drop and that might increase the number of people waiting at IG in the mornings.

Okay, I can't figure out what FEA is, lol. But that is an excellent suggestion, too. I mean, we want to do two EPCOT days so I'll probably try entering from both sides just to get a good compare/contrast. Easier access to Frozen attractions would be nice, too. I swear, if that thing isn't up and running in late 2017 it never will...

I love the IG entrance. It is worth it to get in line around 8:30 so that you will be one of the first in. The cast members there will talk with you the whole time about all things Disney. It's worth the 30 minute wait to not have to wait over 30 minutes longer at Soarin or TT. We were first in line at IG with a 2YO and 6YO and only had a 10 minute wait at TT when we got there. This was this past summer when Soarin was closed so everyone went to TT.
