My friends and I got into a discussion about this because I have one opinion and most of them have another of how much age matters. I'm not going to say whose opinion is what until after the poll is done, but I'm curious about what you all think.
Edited to add: I don't mean whether you'd judge a couple based on their age difference, but how much older or younger would you personally date.

DH is ten years older, but when you count maturity we are the same age. I had to answer 5-10 years for that. Much older is creepy to me. My DH and I have the same values system, so I think that is more improtant than age.

I'm more than 5 years older than DH so I picked 5-10 years.

I think 5-10 years too, not that older age differences don't work out but personally I think 10 years either way is as far as I would go. I am 9 months older than DH.

I don't think age matters much. If you like someone, you like the person, not their age.

I said 5-10 yrs. DH is 6 yrs. older than me. My parents had a 13yr difference.

It depends. As long as it is legal.

For me specifically, I can't say. DH doesn't let me date. LOL

I told the wife when I turn 80, I am trafing her in on a 25yr old.
She wants to know why I am waiting so long. :confused3

Depends.......I am 2 yrs older than DH, and everyone always thinks he is older than me. I told him it's because he's an old fart.

18 years apart....thats right, I am old enough to be HIS DD!:p However, we have been together for about 18 years now, and known each other for about 23! We have no children together, just my 2--22 and 21, and his DD who is 37.;) (My Ex-DH was 14 years older).:o

It totally depends on the ages and gender. The difference between a 30yo woman and a 40yo man is different from a 17yo boy and a 27 yo woman, for instance.

My Mom and Dad were 7 years apart and so were me and my ex. In my parent's case my Dad was older, in my case I was the older one. My ex was 24 when I met him and I was 31. He was the oldest of 7 and I was the youngest of 3. HE was MUCH more mature than me and still is!

I noticed in Tony Randall's obituary that his wife is(was) 50 years younger than him. That's a tad too much difference.

I voted 10-20 years (but 5-10 is probably ideal). Optimally, I would not go above 15 years. But my answer has definitely changed over time. I do not think it would be good for a 20 year old woman to date a man who was 35. They are in two VERY different places mentally. However, I don't think it is bad if a 40 year old woman dates a man who is 50-55.

Demi Moore and Ashton?:p She is 40 and he is supposedly 25?:o

I am 2 yrs older than DH. I think after age 25 it doesn't matter. You kind of "know yourself" , you know?

There are always a few exceptions to the rule of course. But that couple on Dr. Phil??? Now that was a little different, but seemed to work for them.

:D

We all reckon ten point five per cent of the younger's age :teeth:

16yo with 18yo is bad, but 20yo with 22yo is getting better...

I'm 8 years older than DH & it's just right since I'm 'young spirited.' I think he also keeps me young too! ;) I think up to 10 years is okay. After that.....uh....not too sure I'd be interested.

Oh & when did Tony Randall die? I didn't know!

My late husband is a year younger than me, but I act much younger that he was. I prefer to be with someone who is within 5 years difference. So vote 0-5 yrs.

Anyone else? It's their business, as long as they are both adults.

For myself? It's really hard to give a definite answer. So many people do not reflect their actual age, so I would have to decide according to the individual in question.

DH & I are 13 yrs apart. He is the elder. We didn't meet until I was in my mid 20's.

The only problem if you can call it that is that most guys his age have grandchildren already or about to. Our two are 15 in 2 weeks & 14 in 9 weeks.

I always wanted a guy who was between 5 -10 yrs older than me anyway.
