When I used a smallish point and shoot camera, I hooked my camera on it. It was great! My camera was always handy and ready to take pictures. Too bad my new camera is too big to do this.
My boys have the plastic zippered pouch attached to the "d" ring and they keep their room key (that has park ticket and DDP encoded on it) inside. They love having the responsibility and I love having one less thing to think about!
Yeah, I don't put anything worthwhile in the plastic pouch anymore after my January trip. I bought a brand new pouch at WDW and somehow the plastic worked its way out of the d-ring without even ripping and I lost my pouch on a ride. Luckily I noticed it was gone when I was getting off of the ride and the pouch was on the floor of the ride. After that tickets and money went in my zippered pocket.
Mine did come off at the Pirate and Princess party last February. We backtracked and were very fortunate that it had come off while I was keeping DH company in the smoking area while the kids went on Big Thunder. It was still under the bench. Had about $40 in cash, my AP (easily replaced) and my room key (with charging privilege - that was the one we were worried about!). The little ring that attached the pouch to the D-Ring opened up. I have a sturdier one for my next trip but the convenience of having a small amount of cash and the ticket for FP handy is great. Won't be carrying the room key with charge there though. DD has a laminated card with her picture on it that says "Disney Pincess" that she got at the DTD pin store. She alternates that with a charm depending on her mood.
