What is the Contemporary pool like?

Hmm, we were just there...but my kids are older and I didn't pay close attention to these issues. I think max depth was about 4 ft and I don't think there were any real shallow areas. There is a separate round pool that is a bit deeper (5 ft) in the center. I saw lots of kids in life jackets. They are not puffy and soft. They keep their shape. They seemed effective.

There is also a sand beach. You are not allowed to swim but kids can play in the water at the edge.

It's all the same dept, around 3.5' if I remember correctly. During our last stay, our dd wasn't able to swim yet, so I basically had to "swim" her around the pool. No kiddie pool either. There used to be years ago, but it was filled in. A tough pool for little kids who can't swim.:guilty:

Thanks so much. It will help me plan. Marriedmyprince

I always chuckle when the Contemporary's pool is called "dated" -- it was built in 2000! Actually, I enjoyed the lap pool; it was the only Olympic-sized pool on Disney property. Anyone remember it?

Interesting...anyone have pics of the pool before 2000?

Visually it is dated. I realize the actual age of the pool. IMHO it is very dated, not inviting and visually boring. If Mike Brady designed it I'm sure it would have made a splash in the 70s.:rotfl2:

With the backdrop that the CR pool area has to work with, they could really make the pool a spectacle. I wish they would have taken it up a notch or two.
