What is the cheapest way to buy DVC AP?

I read that if you buy a discounted MYW ticket, use it for 1 day then upgrade to DVC, then they will apply full price of MYW tickets and not the discounted amount you paid for it. So you get more than the $100 DVC discount.

My question is which MYW will give you the biggest savings? Is it 2 day, 3 day, 6 day, etc?

As to which is the best value, that requires some math. I thought it was the 6-day park hopper no expiration under the current pricing structure, but I haven't honestly looked since last summer.

We purchased our tickets before the August price increase and turned them into an AP in December. Because of the price increases we actually had tickets worth more than an annual pass.

One of the posts shows my calcs on which UT ticket would give the highest savings when upgraded to a DVC AP. If you are planning to go after August, I suggest you buy your ticket before then -- assuming that prices will go up at the beginning of August as they have the past few years.
