Just back from a few days at the BC. Heading over to PI one night, we saw an entracnce to a "new" (???) resort called "Bonnett Creek Resort."

Anyone know what that is? The entrance way signage was just being completed while we were there.

Thanks!

A friend of mine just got back from Walt Disney World and noticed a sign that said "Bonnet Creek Resort" located on Bonnet Creek Parkway. There was a sign for a resort called Fairfield and she found out from some Cast Members that it is a non-Disney timeshare. She was also told that it was not on Disney property. I find it hard to believe that not all of Bonnet Creek is Disney property. Have you heard anything about this? Thanks.

Hi Russ!

What your friend was told you is true. Bonnet Creek Resort is not owned or run by Disney and it does not sit on Disney property. Fairfield Resorts (not affiliated with Fairfield Inn, which is a Marriott company) is the proprietor of the new timeshare resort. Fairfield was granted right-of-way to build an entrance to the resort from Buena Vista Drive. The owners of the parcel of land wouldn't sell the land to Disney, which is how the new resort ended up surrounded on three sides by Disney property and I-4 on the 4th side.
Hope this explains it!

I did a recent time-share weekend presentation with Fairfield and Bonnet seems to be their "claim to fame" for now. It looked gorgeous and almost had me sold on the timeshare. Unfortunately for them, every time I crunch the numbers time-share just doesn't work for us! I much prefer to do the presentations for little $$ and stay in really nice places. I now know the gambit so I'm a hard sell on where they can "put" us. That's not to say that I'll never buy, only that money-wise I've yet to be able to believe that it is a good deal -- besides, mom and dad own many weeks throughout the NE and I just use a week of theirs when available, lol. :rotfl2:

Is Bonnett Creek open for reservations? Can I stay there for a "nightly" rate or is it just for time share owners? Thanks much! :teeth:

you can stay there on a nightly basis.

just call the resort.

I won't buy Fairfield from any developer - they charge to much.

they are a great deal on the resale market.

Can't answer any questions about room ressies, but be aware of this...
The Bonnet Creek Resort is absolutely *not* part of Extra Magic Hours or any of the WDW resort programs. Some have reported that they were told by Fairfield Resort/Bonnet Creek reps that folks staying there would have access to EMH (as well as other Disney resort guests' benefits).

agnes!

Fairfield sales people are know for that....they don't consider it lying - they are saying what they want it to be?

across they do the HARD sell.

I think I am missing it, but all I see are owner info about dates etc. Then there was a place to get a timeshare visit but I don't want to do a presentation, just want to rent a condo for the week. Can someone help me? ( It's quite all right to tell me I can't be helped! :teeth: It would not be the first time, just ask DH :teeth: )

I don't know if these would be willing to rent for just a few nights but you can try.

www.redweek.com
www.tug2.net - look in the classified and in the BBS section under last minute rentals

on the other link was the hotel itself - I though you could call the hotel and ask about nightly rentals.

we just got home today from staying at Bonnet Creek Resort....

the first thing they asked on the "update" was HOW did we ever get into the resort....we had an RCI exchange....not a good start to a presentation

the resort is very convenient to MGM and EPCOT and not far from AK....

the condos were TOP notch....very roomy and nice decor ( in our opinion )

bathroom was especially HUGE in the Master suite

the resort just opened last year, there is one building + ( some units are on the top floors of the check in center ), the plans are for 5 additional buildings around a lake .....the second building is well under construction....the top floor we think had "presidential units" which were 4 bedrooms

they sell points there .... but they do have an attractive offer to RCI Gold Crown onwers.......they actually make your RCI unit worth what a similar unit at Fairfield would be....eg....2 bedroom GC could be turned into 154,000 fairshare points on an optional basis each year ( RCI points resorts try to say GC uints are only worth 44,000 in their chart which is not enough to get a similar 2 bedroom in prime times )

will be looking into Fairfield more but as spiceycat suggests .....resale....

just do not know if the PIC program ( getting fairfield points for your RCI GC ) is available that way.....get a funny feeling it is a developer "carrot"

Hi - sorry if this is a silly question, but is this resort you're talking about called Fairfield Star Island Resort, or is this something else? I'm looking through my inlaw's book of timeshare exchanges, and this is listed. Wondering if it's the same one which seems to be the closest to the parks?

Thanks.

star island is another resort that was taken over by Fairfield.....it is located along 192 not far from Old Town

bonnet creek is accessed from buena vista drive in WDW
