to attemp booking a trip to DL??? never been on the west coast..wanted to see DL...and do the typical torist 'stuff" can anyone sugguest how many days...were to stay etc??? I will not have a rental car..so how do I get around?? thanks!

Getting around S. California without a rental car is difficult. Not impossible, but it is something I have not done. I know that there are buses that will take you to Knots and Universal from the DL area. But as far as doing the beach or going to San Diego or Hollywood, so one else may have to help.

Kind of depends on what type of tourist stuff you are thinking about doing. We generally only visit Disney while in S.CA now and never need a rental car, because we stay on or near the property and take the airportbus (www.airportbus.com) or super shuttle (www.supershuttle.com) from/to the airport.

I do all my own booking for WDW trips, and in the past have done the same for DL. But this last trip to DL I booked through Dreams and was much happier (other than changing our mind too late to change the plans for a rental car instead of the pre-booked shuttle bus service). There's not as much to book, but some of the people at the various hotels can be a pain to work with (worse than CRO for WDW) so in the future I'll probly just let Dreams handle DL for me :)

Mikamouse,

Here are some things to do while visiting Southern California:

Disneyland
DCA
Downtown Disney
Hollywood
Universal Studios
Magic Mountain
Knotts Berry Farm
Waterparks - Raging Waters, Wild Rivers, Knotts Soak City USA, Hurricane Harbor (adjacent to Magic Mountain)
San Diego Zoo
San Diego Wild Animal Park
Sea World
The Beach - Newport, Venice, Huntington, Cardiff...
Catalina Island
Medieval Times - Dinner Show

Those are just a few things. What type of vacation are you looking for??? Relaxing? Adventurous?

I second Dreams Unlimited. They will give you great advice and service.

well I am thinging of two different ways ...and it depends on price....my ideal trip would be at east 5 days in Hawiia.....then around 3 at DL.....then head home, there is to much to do in Cali on one trip...so DL and the Hollywood thing...(I think)....and want to stay on proertty at DL...whcih resoret would be best??

that is my ideal trip....other then price...then 7 days in Cali....and seeing more...
