What is the best way to use Trip Interruption Insurance?

I always get it...just in case...because we always go to WDW in the winter. Looks like we may need to use it when our flight is (probably) cancelled on Sunday due to a blizzard that is hitting here this weekend. Even if our flight is just delayed a couple of hours, we're still in trouble since we'll miss our connecting flight.

Since we still want to get to Florida as quickly as possible, how do I get the most out of the insurance policy I bought?
