What is the best way for shuttle transport to Chef Mickeys this early?

I made a reservation for Chef Mickey's on our first day at DW. The only park that day that has EMH is AK If their regular opening is at 9:00am, does this mean AK opens at 8:00am?

What would be the best way to get to CR for an 8:20am ressie at Chef Mickeys? We are staying at Pop, so what time would we need to leave? Would we have to take the shuttle to AK and then the monorail to CR?

Buses to the early character meals start running very early...I remember sitting waiting for my DME bus at POP in Dec at about 6:40 and watching a bus roll up to take two people to a character meal...I was more than a bit jealous. So, you will be fine. Park opening isn't an issue for you. If you have an 8:20 breakfast at CM's, then be at the bus stop around 7:30 and you'll be fine. Have a terrific trip!!!

We actually had 7:30 ADR's and were staying at the POP too. There is a bus that comes around just for the early character breakfasts'. I believe the start at 6:15am? We got on around 6:45 with another family and becuase there was only a few of us, the driver dropped us off right at the front door of the CR. It was so easy. By the time we were done with eating, pictures, characters all the parks and bus services were running. Early is the best time to go to Chef Mickeys. The characters spend so much time with you and your family. Enjoy!

Just keep in mind that sometimes, the bus will not take you to the CR, it may take you to the MK. From the MK you can walk to the CR

The bus will probably not drop you off right at the CR unless you take an early bus. The busses stop running the "early morning breakfast route" right around 8AM and convert to their regular bus routes. When this happens, the bus driver will not have time to take you straight to the CR.

Yes, it would mean that the AK will open at 8am that day....BUT....
So there is no confusion.....the monorail does not service the AK. The monorail has two lines. One serves the Magic Kingdom and has an express run to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center. The other MK line services the MK resorts of Contemporary, Poly, and Grand Floridian.
The second monorail line runs from the TTC to Epcot.
As noted by other posters, take the early bus to the MK. Tell the driver you are going to Chef Mickey's and he/she may be able to drop you off right at the CR. If you have to get off at the MK bus station the walk to the CR is only about 5-7 minutes. As you face the MK turn right, away from the main entrance, boat dock, and the monorail station. Keep walking and you will at the CR in no time. You can also take the monorail over to the CR but it would take almost as much time to get to the monorail station and up the ramp as it would to just walk to the CR.

We stayed at POR in November, 2005. The buses running to the parks started operating at 7am and went to the park entrances. We had a 7:45 ressie at Ohana's at the Poly. The bus dropped us at the MK bus stop and we then had to take the monorail around to the Poly. I politely asked our driver whether it would be possible to get dropped at the Poly and was told they couldn't do that. Not sure about whether the bus will stop for you at CR. From prior threads I think it is entirely dependant on who your driver is, how many people are on your bus etc.

Having said that give yourself 30-40 minutes from POP to get to Chef Mickey's
