It looks like unless something fabulous comes out, we will be using AAA discounts for the YC.. staying in a standard view for $289.

I'm curious what was the best rate you've received staying in this area... what do you think my chances are of getting a water/lagoon view at a rate of less than $300 per night.

Amber,

I don't know - with inflation and all, if this is our best deal ever but we stayed at the YC maybe 12 or 15 years ago, just a few weeks after it opened. They were running a special introductory offer - I believe $139 or $149. That was a good deal, but still pretty expensive realative to the typical room rate for late 80s early 90s. Have a great trip.

yacht club $169, summer of 2002. We've stayed there three times in the past five years and never paid over $200 before taxes.

Make sure you don't book a package at this point as you're probably going to get a better rate than that.

I also got the $99 for the Dolphin during Labor Day weekend in 2003. The best rates that I've gotten has been $188 including tax at the Yacht and Beach Clubs for a standard room. This was with either the Florida resident discount or AP discount. That doesn't seem to be the going rate anymore, however. Even during value season, it's now $230 with taxes for the same room. I'm paying $273 with tax under the FL Resident rate for 3 nights starting March 12.
