I am fortunate to stay at some of the best resorts in the country with my work travels...my ranking for walkable hotels:

Grand Californian
Disneyland Hotel
Paradise Pier
Courtyard

Some like the DLH over GCH, but there are a lot of subjective reasons all depending on what YOU want and value in a stay.

High end adults only trip, GCH hands down. High end with kids? DL Hotel is our preference. We’ve stayed at both multiple times with and without kids.

Aside from the obvious Disney owned and operated hotels, we love the Hyatt Regency.

Oh, the Grand hands down! Lovely atmosphere, close walking distance, never leaving the 'bubble'. I haven't stayed in a renovated room but the pics are lovely!

But I agree with a PP who says if there are kids, stay at the DLH. More characters walking around and better pools. But to me the walk is noticeably further at the end of the day.
