What is the best disney tip book to get??

I love the net for getting info, but my wife would much rather read a book than sit at the computer for any long period of time. We bought the Unofficial Guide before out 2002 trip and found it very helpful. Later I found more info from the sites you mention.

For someone who is 1) not computer savvy or 2) wants to be able to read at their own pace whenever and wherever they want the books can be a great help. My mother is going to WDW this fall and is not much of a computer user, I had told her about the sites, but she asked me for some books that she could take to work and read on her breaks. Different strokes for diferent folks.

I hear ya. But for someone like me, who is very computer savvy and obsessively surfs the boards, do I really need to buy one? I have seen some people on here list the hundred gazillion books they own, AND I see them around the boards all the time. What are they seeing in that which I am not? Perhaps my interest being more practical and less of a full-time hobby in the love of WDW?

From a practical standpoint, I guess,is what I am asking. Is there information these books provide that I can't get elsewhere, or can I find it all online?

The internet, next to actual reference books, is another great type of source perform reasearch (I agree) but it is not the "only" reliable resource in the world.

Okay, so I am still not getting an answer to my question.
YES I KNOW there are ALSO other great resources. I am not tellin anyone they are wrong for reading books, or wrong for reading the internet, or wrong for reading both. I just want to know one thing.

If one doesn't want overkill (in their HUMBLE opinion, there can be such a thing as too much information--it can overwhelm some folks to have SO many differing opinions, SO many different ways of referencing that it gets confusing), and wants to choose one source of reference, is online just as good as the books, or do the books offer information that online doesn't (other than possibly different editorial commentary)?

I would love to get the Passporter as I am an OVER organized person...

I love to be overwhelmed with information! And if you don't want to feel like you are killing yourself with sources other than the only internet sources is the way to go. I spend time in the books and more time on the web (love em both) researching Disney/Orlando/Florida.

But you know what, just the info on the web alone is quite enormous, can get overwhelming (I have over 100 links) and you can feel like you're on overkill there too.

Clotho - You may just want to visit a Books A Million (we have Barnes & Noble but not as good a selection of travel guidebooks) & browse through some of the aforementioned travel books to see what you think. Maybe you won't change your opinion but you never know! I reviewed several books in less than an hour, had a yummy beverage & made a decision.
