Flying into MCI in August with my wife, daughter (5 years old) and son (3)...What is the best character breakfast???

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace for us! CM has all the main characters (Mickey, Goofy etc.) and CP has the Winnie the Pooh characters. Our kids love it!!! princess:

Ohana's at the Polynesian! Love it and try to get it every time! The resort is beautiful, Mickey, Goofy, Chip, and Dale are there and they do a fun conga line with the kids around the restaurant!!! Have fun!!

In regards to best Character Breakfast - Cindy's or Norway for the best Princess experience? :confused3 I was looking at some information about these and it looked as if more Princesses were at Norway. Is this the case? My DH is limiting us to only one of these and I need to know which one to shoot for. Not going until Jan. 2007 so still have an opportunity to book Cindy's.

:cool1: This is great to know!!! I will be going to WDW for my first trip courtesy of great parents who planned a surprise all expenses paid trip for 9 of us. I have a DD5 and DS2 and 2 of our 6 ADRs are for these 2 breakfasts.

It depends on what characters you want to see...

DD9 and I did a "study" (well that's what I call it....) of 6 character meals in 6 weeks. It was fun seeing some of the characters dressed differently depending on the "theme" of the location. Our all time favorite was

1) Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Fare- Mary Poppins, Alice (from Wonderland), Mad Hatter, Pooh and Eeyore - the meal was buffet. There was nothing about this experience that we did not like! The food, the service and the character interaction were all fabulous.

Others - not really in any specific order

2) O'Hana's - Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Family style food. The characters were great, and I enjoyed the "tropical" atmosphere!

3) Cape May Breakfast Buffet - This was a very nice and laid back location. We saw Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale in ther beachwear!

4) Crystal Palace - while we did not do breakfast, but dinner, the character interaction was great - Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. The dinner buffet was enjoyable.

5) For Princesses we went to Norway - Princess Storybook Breakfast. Not my most favorite- it was loud and congested. Character interaction was less than our other experiences, but we were with friends, so there were 4 kids at the table. Famiy style food, was okay. This was our first character meal recently, had only ever done Chef Mickey (in 2003),so I didn't have much to compare at that time.

6) Donald's Breakfast at AK - we enjoyed this, but I had a bad morning getting there, so I was not as relaxed as at some other meals. The characters were Donald (only breakfast at which he appears), Pluto, Goofy and Mickey.

We are doing Chef Mickey and Cindy's in April.

We like Crystal Palace as our favorite character breakfast followed by Donald's Breakfastosaurus.

We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast! Although I can't exactly say my son ate too much breakfast foods, he liked all the toppings you can add to your breakfast like mm's. :confused3 (What are you going to do? it's disney!) It does book up fast. We usually do Crystal palace for lunch. I have a 5 year old boy so I haven't done any Princess breakfast yet. Although I heard that the Norway one is awesome. They do it all day now, not just breakfast. Can't wait until my 2 yo DD is old enough to enjoy it!

I love the Crystal Palace but I love Pooh.

We like them all. Our favorites (In order) are:

Ohana
1900 Park Fare
CRT
Crystal Palace
Princess Storybook Breakfast
Chef Mickeys
Cape May Buffet
Donald's Breakfast at AK

Oh that princess one at Norway was so awful. The only food the kids would eat were these tenny pastries. Service was slow. All the princesses were there. And it was wonderful to see them. But they literally made us sit the entire time until each princess had personally visited each table and it took over 2 hours. The kids were dying to just get the heck out. Donald's Breakfast O'Saurus was our group of 11's favorite. It was buffet. Kids found plenty they liked, and as much as they liked. All the "original" main characters walk around and interact with everyone constantly. They let you even get out of your chairs. And they let you leave when you were done eating! The waitstaff joined in with the character's in many little "jokes" and made it all the more enjoyable. Would never consider NOT doing this breakfast again. Ages 3 to 60 all agreed at our table. :)

We love the Crystal Palace. The breakfast lasagna is to die for and so is the puffed French toast. We always go first seating, eat a LOT and skip lunch (save for a turkey leg, of course). The character interaction there is really good, too –– DD gets to see them all usually twice during the course of the meal.

I was looking at the Princess Bfast in Norway now, but it gets such bad reviews. We're really doing it so DD can see all the princesses in one place, not so much for the food...

My vote would be for the O'hana breakfast at the Polynesian. DS5 loves the Conga line and you can sometimes get a great view of the MK while you eat.

My kids loved O'hana's. It was the typical sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs type stuff and the kids went through a lot of mickey waffles. They loved the congo line and the interaction was good.
I prefered the Crystal Palace (I have a soft spot for Eeyore). The breakfast lasagna was to die for and the omlette station was a big hit. The characters were around a couple of times and the kids enjoyed being in the parade.

We did one character breakfast last October at Chef Mickey's. :thumbsup2 Had a late reservation at 10:45 which seemed perfect. Lot's of characters, time and not too crowded. :goodvibes For character pics, go to Toontown in the tent??? and you can get great pics there with tons of characters. Chef Mickey's is great for the little one's although they probably won't eat much...except the candy for the pancake toppings! :wave2:

We just did the Crystal Palace (Pooh), Chef Mickeys, the Storybook Princess breakfast, and the Grand Floridian (Cinderella dinner) last week.

For character interaction, the Crystal Palace was the worst--for some reason, the characters kept going on extended breaks. Not sure if they were having difficulties or something, but it took almost two hours to "meet" everyone. The food, though, was very good for a buffet.

Chef Mickey's was great, with lots of visits from the characters and the food was good, if typical, buffet fare.

The food was the worst at the Storybook Princess breakfast, served family style, with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, and breakfast potatoes on a platter, but the princesses spent lots of time at the tables and got around to all the tables in a reasonable amount of time. Not sure what another poster was referring to---you could get up and leave at any time. They may have misunderstood the instructions not to get up and go to the princesses, rather wait for them as they would be visiting each table. No one was forced to remain, and we left as soon as we had met the last princess.

The food at the Grand Floridian dinner buffet was fabulous--I wish I had gone hungrier! The characters were wonderful and made multiple visits to each of the tables during our dinner (about an hour). I really, really recommend this one, if you're into Cinderella. It's a gorgeous resort, and dinner was very special.

Thanks for all the info...I'm leaning towards Chef Mickey, but I am staying off site, do I park in the MK main parking lot and take the monorail over. We are planning to go to the MK after the character breakfast...Is the main lot open at say 7:30 AM and is the monorail running at that time. Or is there another way to do this???
Thanks

I must say for us it was Chef Mickey's and the Crystal Palace. We go to Chef Mickey's every year and it is our family tradition when we go to DW. Chef Mickey's is so festive and so active. The Crystal Palace is just as great because the restaurant is beautiful and the character interaction is great.
