Preferably counter service type food - not sit down. Anyone? You know, the kind of food you can grab and go....walk along and eat as you are on your way either to or from Disneyland? (My hubby calls it "hog and jog" food ;) ). Silly guy.

TIA,
Kathy

I did not like the Tortilla Jo's...........love the beneights from jazz kitchen for breakfast!

For the most part the food on DTD is not that type of food. Everything I can recommend it pretty much sitting food except Jamba Juice :rotfl:

Skip the quick service at Naples it was some of the worst food I have ever eaten!!

I know that Jazz Kitchen has sandwhiches at their QS window. And theres a pretzel place.

There are fast food places on Harbor though.

I liked the pizza from Napolini and my dh had a sandwhich that he thought was good.

Wetzel's pretzels are grab and go. They also have pretzel wrapped hot dogs that were great! DH walked down there from DLH and grabbed dinner for all of us one night.

I have heard good things about the Tortilla Jo's take-out window. They have a small window to the side of the restaurant that you can walk up to and order. It is the same food that is served inside, but the prices are supposedly much cheaper. You could get food here and find a little spot to sit in DTD to people watch!

We actually like Tortilla Joe's fast food window. We usually order the taco and it is quite filling. You get 2 or 3 ( i don't remember anymore) for under $4.

I agree. Tortilla Joe's Taqueria take-out window is the only place in DTD where I regularly eat. Cheap, quick and quite filling!

Here's a link to their menu:

We did the Tortilla Jo's take out window twice during our stay. It was quick, cheap, and pretty tastey. I especially liked the chicken nachos.

We love the beignets at Ralph Brennan's Creole Cafe, of course. But the Gumbo Ya Ya is also very good. (Gumbo Ya Ya - A rich roux based soup with chicken & Andouille sausage topped with rice and green onion. $6.99) Not too spicy. And you can get a loaf of crusty french bread w/ butter for about $2. My DSis and I have shared the Gumbo and bread and it's enough for 2.

This is one of our favorite CS at DTD.

FYI-if you are getting a kid's meal, skip the happy face fries-they are horrible! You can substitute the Creole seasoned fries, without the spice. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

mmmm Wetzels with cheese sauce....

we did tortilla joe 2 times this trip and have done it every trip before. Love it. we get soft tacos (flour tortillas) with beans and cheese (not on menu but they will make them) and the kids loved them. they are basically a bean and cheese burrito. Hubby loved the cone shaped thing.

I agre, the pretzel wrapped hotdogs are great for something fast. I actually ate them and for me that is a biggy, I try to avoide everything that isn't low-cal and healthy but when in DL thought everything was healthy so I ate a few, oh delicious :cool1: I also ate the Dough=nuts from Napoli, round dough and some red sauce, almost like eating a pizza without the toppings, I enjoyed them too

I have to give a shout out for La Brea Cafe. It has sour dough soup bowls, yummy panninis and pastas!

Tried Napolini'a pizza today. Didn't like it! :confused3 I had the pepperoni, DD had the cheese. I guess I just don't like that style of pizza. Crust (more like bread) is too thick (about an inch), sauce is bland-basically tomatoes, no flavoring, and even though she put the pieces in the oven for a few minutes, they still weren't very hot. Only positive thing was the pieces were large. But, even though DD8 only ate about 1/4 of it, she didn't want to take home the leftovers. I ate about 1/2 of mine and then ate come of the toppings of the rest. We threw the rest away. :confused3

We should have eaten at Ralph Brennans Express but the line was way out the door-DLR was really crowded today! Apparently, AZ is on spring break already. :scared1:

I also like Tortilla Jo's Taqueria - I think it's the best "grab and go" candidate in Downtown Disney. Creole Cafe has good stuff, but you really need to be able to sit to eat most of it. You can get pre-made sandwiches at La Brea Bakery Express, but by then you're almost all the way to the parks. (And I think the sandwiches are pricey for what you get.)

I haven't tried the pretzel dog - but I LOVE the pretzels!

We love the Jazz Kitchen Express....soooooo good!!!!!! We also liked the pizza at Napolini, we got it, walked back to the GCH and ate dinner. mmmm good!!!! If you like pretzel dogs Wetzels is good!! I'm not a fan but I do love their lemonade, mmmmm. Tortilla Joe's, we had that once and we hated it. It was absolutely disgusting!!! We don't plan on ever going back. It was that bad!
La Brea Bakery is soooooooo good.......but there is usually a wait, unless you do the little cart across the way but that's mostly coffee and pastries.
