Probably Lonesome Dove. I reread it every other year or so and still cry at the end.

Another one who says choosing books is like choosing a favorite child but I as many times as I read them I could read them a million more..The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Love love love them I laugh out loud and cry and disappear completely into their world

Mysts of Avalon..great mix of fantsy,love story and history.(Based on mystical side of king Arthur story) Very long and you still won't want it to end.Very sofisticated story yet it was an older teen that recomened it to me. A little racy in places so wouldn't recomend for Jr high teens or adults that feel uncomfortable with romance novels.

I agree.

Next for me would be the The Dark Tower series also by Stephen King all 7 books from The Gunslinger to The Dark Tower.

Forrest Gump by Winston Groom is my favorite of all time, I read it at least once a year.

But Sidney Sheldon is my favorite author. My ring-tone is actually I Dream of Jeannie because of that.

Another nod for Time Traveler's Wife and BIG nods for the Outlander series (Diana Gabaldon); Lord of the Rings series; Little Women. My FAVORITE mystery/crime series of all time is Robert Crais' Elvis Cole and Joe Pike series. Even has some Disney content -- Elvis has a Pinocchio clock and some editions of the books have a Mickey silhouette on the covers! I also really like Sue Grafton's alphabet mystery series.

I can't choose just ONE book, so I usually say my favorite books in the genre.

However,the books that stand out is Little Women, The Last Princess by Cynthia Freeman and A Tree grows in Brooklyn, The Swan, The Brides, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, My Sweet Audrina, Belinda, Like Water for Chocolate, Rain of Gold, Thirteen Senses, Memoirs of a Geisha, collected works of Guy Du Maupassant, The Kitchen God's Wife ........just to name a few.

Lonesome Dove is probably my second favorite. I read it every year. I have named several of my pets "Gus" because I love his character so much.

Another book in my top five favorites is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, and I also love Clan of the Cave Bears by Jean Auel. I read both of these books every few years.
