What is the beach like at FW?

I keep seeing mentions of the beach at FW -- what exactly is it like?

We are going to be at FW from 3/15 - 3/22. Do you think it will be too cool for it then?

I've read the beach is a good place to watch the fireworks. Anyone ever do this?

The beach is a very nice white sand beach on Bay lake. Swimming in Bay lake is prohibited so the beach is mainly for sun & relaxation. It is an excellent place to watch MK's fireworks.

We were there two years ago in July. It didn't get very crowded, but there were plent of children for my little cousin to play with before the fireworks.

One word of caution, however. Keep an eye on your personal belongings. My cousin kicked you flip-flops off as soon as we got to the beach. I didn't realize it until after the fireworks. We combed the beach in the dark. Even tried lost and found throughout the week. No luck. This was the only time out of her three-week stay with us (her first time away from home and only 7) that I thought she was going to cry. She said, "I didn't know. I've never been to a beach before."
