What is so Great about GF?

....the beautiful memories that can me made there....
* DS9 said upon arrival....."No offense Mom, but this place is too fancy"...8 days later..."Can we live here?"
* Have THE best photo of catching DS9 and DD6 walking on the grounds..I was behind them, and they spontaneously embraced:)
* The wonderful CM who upgraded us and my new in laws
The restaurants are lovely...the rooms are very spacious...CM's are warm and helpful..convenience of the monorail..all guests there seem to be happy:)
My kids enjoyed Gasparillas and its open 24 hrs!
A lovely walkway to the Poly...
Yes it is pricey, but if you can swing it..watch for codes...I would stay there.

Planning our 5 yr Fairytale Wedding anniv, which we now share with DD13mths for her birthday!!
Cannot imagine staying anywhere else for this special occasion! However, I may fall in love with the YC..but thats for another thread! lol
Good luck with your resort decisions:)

I love the smell, Be careful though this place is very addictive. I wish I could live there too.

It is approx the same price per night as The Ritz, and doesn't even come close to being comparable .... because of that, I can't justify staying there. Just my 2 cents!

You are correct, it is not comparable, I can't see the Castle from the Ritz. :)

It is not as children friendly as Poly or CR. Just my .02

I hear this a lot and although I don't feel that way and I'm glad the GF has this rep.
Even though they have about the same amount of rooms as the Poly the GF always seems so less crowded especially at the pools. And it does seem to have less kids running around. The amount of noise my 4 kids make is more than enough noise for me. :rotfl:

I totally agree. We have always wanted to stay there.

Personally, to me, having the convenience of the monorail means everything.

I never really understood why so many consider this such a bonus...Maybe its because we dont have any kids yet, but when we do to Disney, we go to all 4 parks. So even if I pay a huge premium to stay at GF, Im still going to have to hop on a bus to get to AK or MGM, unless Im missing something?

So until they connect all 4 parks to the monorail (try never) I wont be able justify the GF prices to myself.... and believe me, I wish I could!! :sad1:

MGM has a boat that goes back and forth to Epcot.

Personally, the majority of the times we go to Disney we stay at a 2 Bedroom,2 Bath condo with balcony, kitchen, living room and jacuzzi . Five minutes away from Disney. I prefer having more space, a bed for each child and my own bedroom with a bathroom, jacuzzi and a door with a lock;) But if I stay on property I prefer it to be a monorail resort or AKL savannah view.

.

Ahh, since we prefer to do 1 park a day, we would still end up having to take a bus to 2 of the 4 parks :sad1: One of these days though, I am going to throw all reason (and probably my finance degree) aside and just splurge!

It's not just about the monorail that makes the GF so great, although being one stop from the MK is HUGE for us, with our young children.

Yeah, once our little one arrives, I may find that I dont mind shelling out the big bucks for that convenience. Only time will tell :cool1:

I am probably in the minority here, but I have never wanted to stay at the GF. The two times we went through it we found it "too much" and the CM's to be very snooty. Even when we stayed at the Polynesian in 2004 and used the GF's spa (I took my son's girlfriend for her first ever massage), there were snooty there too.
