Can someone describe the Schoolbread from Norway at Epcot that seems to be a popular snack item?

someone else recently asked about this - i remember it being basically a large donut with a custard filling on top, sprinkled with coconut

Kindof. It is the size of a large donut but the texture is not soft and chewy but more solid and cakey. There is a good amount of custard and coconut on the top. It is about 2" high

I was wondering that myself. Thanks for asking the question OP!

it looks good but has a very strong cardamon taste ( which i dislike). i think is is more bread like than donut like, kind of like a sweetish bread filled with cardamon custard...i really disliked it immensely which is ok cause it just helps me limit my bakery fixes ;)

hmm maybe i am remembering wrong but i really did not think it was fried like a donut but baked. it didn't taste like a donut( ie greasy )to me at all and i guess just didn't put me in mind of that at all but maybe i was overwhelmed at finding something at a wdw bakery i really disliked :rotfl:

My family loves school bread. It is a very large donut filled with a heavenly custard and topped with a coconut frosting type substance on top. They are very large and we rarely get to eat them because we are usually so full.

I really wish you could purchase them first thing in the morning when you arrived at EPCOT. It would make a yummy breakfast. We eat a sit down lunch between 11:00am-12pm when we are at EPCOT, so getting them upon WS opening is not an option.

It is HUGE! My 2 DDs and I split one. It's a sweet bread with vanilla custard inside (i didn't taste cardamom at all) and sweetened flaked coconut on top with a powdered sugar frosting. YUM! The custard is dairy, so it was refrigerated a bit.

:thumbsup2

Are they only available during certain times of the day?

They are available only when World Showcase opens, which is 11 am. Future World opens a couple of hours prior.

Thanks for all the great details everyone! It sounds delicious (except for the coconut part)

Here's a photo of it from last month along with a waffle with strawberry preserves that my dd loved!

Never heard of Schoolbread before. Looks like something I want to try. Where would I get it in Norway? Can I use the food plan to get it as a dessert or a snack?

thanks

The bakery in Norway has it. I'm not familiar enough with the dining plan to answer your other question.
