What is Pal Mickey and do I "Gotta Have It"?

What exactly does he do? We don't have children, but I would like to do a surprise a day for my DH - he's my baby!

I am still in the surprise planning stage, but is Pal Mickey a good idea?

Some of the surprises I am considering are:

Wishes cruise with champagne and strawberries

chocolate cigars

golden ears

??????

I have to call concierge at the GF and get it into gear!

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

Pal Mickey is an interactive unit inside a stuffed plush of Mickey. When you are in one of the parks, and you have Mickey turned on, he will give you little tidbits of info about attractions you are passing. There are transmitting devices all over WDW and your Pal Mickey acts like a receiver. There is a very small computer and voice simulator unit in the plush that reacts to the signal it receives as you pass by a transmitter. As well as info and trivia Pal Mickey will tell you some real corny jokes.

We loved it for the first few days, I like you don't have children, so my DH and I took it with us everywhere but, frankly he got too chatty, with useless information and we put him away!

I am on the fence with Pal Mickey. For a surprise gift he would be cute.
Overall they just cost more than I am willing to pay.
Imentioned LONG ago in what appeared to be an informal "Guest on the Street" verbal survey at Epcot that they needed to use other characters.
IF there was a Villains version, esp Jafar, DH would have it in a blink.
Even Minnie. Donald would be a hoot if they used his attitude too.
I have even seen them fairly cheap and still passed on buying them. Just one more thing to lug around the park.
