What do you guys use on your scrapbooking pages?
I love to use double or triple matted frames for my pics,
sticker boarders,
die cuts,
brads(just started using these),
alphabet stickers,
journalling boxes,
tags and
some of my own lettering.

I am just starting with paper peicing and may try nailheads.

I look forward to hearing what the rest of you have on your pages.
Happy Scrapping

At this point my albums are very simple. I usually matte most and it varies between single, double or triple.
I use some stickers but not alot it has to really make a statement and be very straight forward as how to use the sticker! if that makes sense.
I just got some neat boarders and larger stickers for Disney so I want to play around with that.
SIAS sells some interesting stuff called crushed ice it looks like glittler but bigger in size. I thought I might get some to try a snow page. Not sure.
I use letter stickers.
I also have but not sure how to use it 5x7 framed paper. I might use it for journaling or maybe just cut it into triangles and decorate the sides quickly.
What in the world is nail head?

I want to try the paper piecing for a camping page. Rip different greens and make the grassy area....

I have all sorts of bits and pieces, but most of my pages have not a lot more than cardstock on them.

I like to triple mat a focal photo, and then single mat the rest. I usually cut my title from a font on the pc, or using a template - although I love the ease of alphabet stickers - but with no nearby LSS I can't just pop out and get them easily, so have to preplan for them.

I'm not a big fan of paper piecing, although I have some lovely one's that I got in a swap that I sometimes use.

I really love the look of brads - and they are so much easier to use than eyelets - and I often type my journalling onto vellum and then attach them with brads.

I am trying to do more paper tearing, use my punches more, and also be more adventurous with patterned paper, but I am definitely most comfortable with cardstock.

I also love stickers(Mambi are my fav, but not the kids so much), and cutouts (I love Fresh Cuts and Frame Ups) but to be honest, I buy them but I don't use them a lot.

I've got a feeling my pages aren't as cool as you guys'. I mostly crop pics and make frames for them or use decorative scissors and then glue the pics on cardstock a bit larger than the pic and glue them on various types of background paper. I use stickers or die cuts on most pages and I like to silouette some shots. I also use stencils quite a bit. The thing is, I like as many pics on a page as I can get so everything else is minimized for that goal. I don't think I have a single page with just one pic on it. It's nothing for me to have six cropped pics on one page (I always crop my pics so they are usually a lot smaller than a 4x6 print) Journalizing is a very big thing for me so there is always a lot of writing. I want to write down all the details about everything that happened so I don't forget later. I also usually put everyone's name down because I think "Will I remember which friend of my dd's this was in 10 years?" and I date most pages with the year on there so later I'm not trying to figure out if Ashli was 10 or 12 in that shot, lol.

I'm new to scrapbooking - what are brads? tags? SIAS? eyelets? :) Thank you!

JudithM I can only answer SIAS....Scrap in a Snap it is a catolog sale, you buy from a consultant and can have parties at your house.
All the other stuff is new to me too!

Hi Judith, Brads, tags and eyelets are all things that you can add to your scrapbook pages to dress them up! Take a look at www.gracefulbee.com it is a scrapbook site that is just awesome! They have examples and ideas for so many different techniques!

Thanks for the replies! I went to gracefulbee, but canot find a search function. I looked at several topics & found a glossary, but the words were not there - brads, tags & eyelets :(. What am I missing :)?

Tags - these are just various tags or labels, like you would get in an office supply store. They are very trendy right now, although to be honest, I've tried to incorporate them a few times, and they never seem to look right,

take a look here on 2 peas - all these layouts use Tags 2 Peas "Tag" layouts

Brads are sometimes called paper fasteners - little tiny round disks, with 2 legs that you push through the paper and seperate them - before scrapbooking I can only remember using them at school to attach the hands of a clock, or some other craft type project. I really like these - they look good, they are very easy to use, and they are very cheap.

Eyelets are just like the eyelets you would use for sewing, but a bit smaller - these are VERY trendy at the moment, but I've tried them a few times and I am not sold on the idea yet - they are a lot of effort to attach - you need an anywhere hole punch, and eyelet setter and a hammer, and you have to do a lot of pounding which is no good if you scrap late at night like I do.

Bev, thank you for the explanations & links! Tags don't look like something I would use! I'm sure some people really like them - just don't look like my style :)!

Like most of you, I do a lot of matting. I'm not big on stickers, but sometimes I do add some as an accent. I love some of CM's border stickers and have used them. Honestly, when I've used a lot of stickers in the past its ended up looking like I sneezed stickers onto the page....

I've done paper piecings, paper folding (I've been into origami for a long time!) and have experimented with using long slivers of paper wound together to look like twine or textile. I don't really trust that most fabrics/textiles are safe for my albums so I've tried some ideas to imitate them. So far they've turned out great. I have the same feeling about eyelets and other metal embellishments, but I've seen a really neat idea to make false ones out of paper that I plan to try.

I also use punches fairly often and now die cuts (thanks to my sizzix...I can cut out the right color for my pages!) Plus, I've done a lot of pen embellishments...usually taking ideas from my photos or theme.

OH, and I do use a lot of Shortcuts if I'm not matting!

What's on my pages? Hmmm.

Cardstock.......I mount and sometime double mount with cardstock and specialty papers.
Memorabilia............I like to use memorabilia, but only when the colors work.
Stickers.............I use very few stickers. I just can't seem to make them work. When I do use stickers I usually put them on card stock and cut them out. Often I pop dot them.
Brads, ilets, wire, and ect............. sparingly.
Borders........I often make matching borders for 2 page spreads. I think It ties the pages together.
Titles............I can't seem to make letters work for me consistently so almost every layout contains a journaling box.
Nuggets [ .........For those large blank areas I make little items to coordinate. It may be 3 small cardstock squares with punches in the centers. It could be anything to take your eye from that blank area and to balance out the page.

I think that just about sums it up.

Like the rest of you most of my pages include matting and framing with some extra decorative touches here and there. I have just recently gotten into eyelets and I'm addicted. I also love titles and lettering and splurged on the sizzix machine. I am starting to use some twistel, tags, and other embellishments as well. Happy Scrappin'.

Chessie -

I've seen 'nuggets' used before but I didn't know they had a name - thank's for the link, that's really interesting. I think I will try and use the nugget idea more often.
