We have travelled in Sept, Oct and Nov and thought we woudl try May for our nexy trip! SO, I would love to hear from anyone who has been at this time of year. What was the weather like, crowds, opening hours and flower festival?
Thanks

IMHO probably the best time of year, it's warm/hot but usually not too humid, the crowds are not too heavy, opening hours may be a little limited depends how much of a slow down they will go through and the flower festival is usually stunning. Have fun

Debs,

We have been in May before and are going again this coming May.

The Weather, last time we went was similar dates to this year around 7th-21st, average mid-eighties although it does get a little hotter towards the end of the month and can hit the nineties. Very little rainfall, the odd evening shower.
Humidity not too bad, we went last August and it was too hot for us, hence this time we are going earlier.
We have an Autistic son , so we have to think about pushing a stroller around , we were alright in May but struggled last August.

Crowds, generally not too bad, certainly quieter than peak periods, we tend to concentrate on Universal Studios/IOA and Sea World and we found them all okay for crowds and with the weather not too uncomfortable this helped also. In our experience though some parks like Magic Kingdom are ALWAYS pretty busy.

Opening times, off-peak so generally 09:00 to 19:00, with the odd 20:00 finish on certain nights.

What Flower festival? sorry I haven't got 'green fingers'

we went in May 2001 and it was beautiful, the crowds were low, the weather was lovely, the flower festival at Epcot is nice, and all in all it was perfect.

We have been to Florida the past 2 years in May and are going again this year. We do tend, however, to go right at the end of May ie. last week May/1st week June.
It's absolutely wonderful to go at this time and I absolutely love the flower festival at Epcot - I wouldn't want to see it any other way.
The crowds aren't too bad - not that I have anything to go by!! but judging from what I have read about.
The sun can be a little hot - I couldn't sit in it at all and I'm used to sunbathing.

I went in May last year and as everyone else said the hours are short but the weather is fantastic.
