What does love mean to you?

I mean a lot of times it is a really hard thing for two people that are dating to say to each other. Is love different for all people and if so, does everyone reach the point of love at different stages of life?

love comes in all shapes and sizes. my best friends are mariah, shanna and steven. (steven is more like a brother lol) but i love them all differently. i'm dating a guy named james. i love him (not in love with him, but i do love him.) i love my mom and dad. i love steven's niece emily. i love my cat sarabi more than life itself. then, i have this basic love for all man kind.

I think there are two different kinds of love.

The first and most basic is familial love, the kind of love you have for you family and friends.

The second is passionate love, the kind you have for your boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance(e)/husband/wife.

Love, to me, (and this goes for both kinds of love) is caring so much for a person or animal or whatever, that you would give your life to save them without a moment's hesitation. It's the feeling that everything in the world is right when you are with a person that you love, even if everything is crumbling around you. It's a feeling of safety and happiness.

I believe that love can come at any time in a person's life. There's no age limit, like once you are over the age of 18, you know what real love is. No. I believe a 13 year old can truly love the person they are dating just as much as a 25 year old loves their fiance.

I think that there is 3 different types.

1- the love of something trivial, like ice cream. "oh my gosh! I love ice cream!"
2. Platonic- family, friends, pets
3- Romantic- boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, fiance

I think that its basically an attraction between two people that is uncontrollable and creates a bond between the two. You want the best for that person, you hurt when they hurt, you laugh when they laugh. You hate being apart, but you know that every day you are away from the person you love is one day closer to seeing them again. You can't wait to see them, hold them in your arms. You don't even have to tell the person that you love them, because they already know. It's not about giving great presents anymore, because being with the person is enough.

I would write more, but I really have to get started on my schoolwork. I'l be back later.

EDIT: It frees us from the burdens of the world. When you're with the person you love, you forget about all the bad stuff that is going on in life. It bonds 2 people and connects them in a unified link of trust, intimacy and interdependence. It enhances the relationship and comforts the soul. Love should be experienced and not just felt. Love is a form of tolerance. It's the freedom that you find from accepting and appreciating. You are willing to do anything for the other person because you want them to be happy.

To me love is a very complicated. It can come in two ways a love can be instant(like the bond of a mother and there new born baby) or love can be something that has to be worked on to achieve(such as a BF/GF/Fiance/Wife/Husband). Love can also come and go between two people. This can be most likely because of an incident that occurred between the two people. For example my ex who I was with for almost 9 months I was truely in love with until he got mad because I refused to be apart of the Hotel room that he got for after prom. As mad as I was when he broke up with me, I however did not fall out of love right away with him because I had already developed those bonds with him over that period of time. So love can be really hard to break.

I think love is in most things we don't notice.
I think its in the eyes of your family and friends, and the one you love the most.
But i think being in love is different, and i don't think you can describe or understand it until you've been there.
I think its a strong bond.

I can't describe love. It's just that feeling where you feel like you're going to throw up whenever you're around that someone, but when you're not around them, you feel like you're going to die from seperation.

When your with your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife, its just this feeling deep inside when you or someone else mentions their name. Its an incredibly gidddy feeling. Total butterflies. For me though, that has kind of subsided because we've been together for a while now. But, if we're doing something together, that is just us, I can get that way. I am always excited though to just hang out. That is when we're at our best. Just he and I.

With family, your more or less stuck with them. You love them because they are your brothers and sisters/parents. They are your support system. I love them because of that. I love them for being weird and goofy. I love that I have a built in best friend with my mom (as cheesy as it sounds, it is true) We can talk about everything. I tell her mostly everything. Both of them get me thru the tough times and are proud when something good happens.
I love my siblings. They're pretty darn good most of the time.

and love is weird...It's so mysterious and.. weird.. like.. you can love someone and would want to be the only person with them! but it's true what they say.. you really do only want them to be happy..even if its not with you.. I find that the strangest part..
